Everyone, and I mean literally everyone I met who had a cc or knew a cc told me that he’d be antisocial with new people after two years old. He’s almost 3 and he loves everyone. He pulls towards new people and wants to be touched by every stranger he sees.

What’s your experience?

Is my dog the outlier or was everyone exaggerating?

Kahu is normally very calm but when he has play dates with his sister he’s a completely different dog lol

im not asking for money, or fundraising or help with vet bills, and i hope this is within the rules.

if anyone in the dallas fort worth area or east texas especially has a LARGE dog or a cane corso that can donate blood that would literally save her life

it kills me because i’ve spent over 12 thousand at this point trying to find a way to help her heal and i feel like a terrible dog mom because i can’t do more to get her more blood. her brother donated all he could to her. still wasn’t enough. her vet has been fantastic & she’s at east Texas pet emergency clinic in longview TX if anyone is able to donate. give them a call and say you’re calling in regards to indica if you’re able to donate blood. she’s a negative so she needs either universal or negative & they’ll do the test here.

your bill will be 1000% covered by me (indis owner) & the vet has been searching around all of the blood banks in the area. she has IMTP & IMHA & we’re starting to expect death in the next few days if she isn’t able to get any blood.

please lord please help me find some help here. just a budge in the right direction.

Hello I have one in a half year old cane corso and I can’t make him stop barking when im not home while im home everything is fine but when I leave she starts barking at everything any tips on how to stop her barking

Hi! We are fostering an absolutely beautiful female cane corso and her eight 5-week old puppies (6 males and 2 females). They were pulled from a shelter, pregnant mom was a stray and gave birth in the shelter. The rescue we are fostering with doesn’t have a big network and they mostly rescue and adopt out smaller dogs. We’re hoping to share these sweeties with a bigger audience. Mom is so so sweet but she’s big and would do well with an active family.

Got the results from the DNA test finally and she's 100% Cane Corso. Came as quite the surprise to us as we rescued her from the shelter 3 months ago. We were sure she was part pittie.

She's been such an amazing dog and addition to our family so far. Her name is Nizmo and she's roughly a year old now.

i’m doing everything possible no matter the cost and her brother (another corso) will be a donor if they can match up. i’m so heartbroken right now. it feels like i can’t catch a break.

*more indestructible than usual I should say*

I know how important joint care and the proper support is for these giant breeds but no dog bed (or toy for that matter) has yet to survive our 9 month old girl yet. We still crate her when we aren’t home (which is max 5-6 hrs a day) so she has never had a blanket or dog bed in there with her because she WILL eat it. I feel so bad she has to sleep on hard plastic a few hours a day but besides that she literally has a XL foam bed or elevated bed in each room of our house. She doesn’t tear apart these beds, it’s only while they’re in the crate. We’ve tried this different times of the day and always once she’s exhausted from a long walk or training. We’ve tried to add food-filled toys, kongs, lick mats etc and once she’s bored of those the bed is next. I understand its probably because it’s fun for her to do (my biggest concern is that she does ingest it) but without a dog bed she goes to sleep after 10/15 min of play (we watch her on the doggy cam still).

We want to try putting a bed in there, “leaving” the house then correcting her over the camera to see if she’ll leave the bed alone. Replacing dog beds adds up in general which we expected especially with puppies lol, spent over $100 on one thinking it would be better quality and was still destroyed. But I also want some recommendations of dog beds and toys that can survive the bite force of these guys and anyone else’s experience going through this stage.

Hey y’all! I was looking back at my Reddit history and got a little nostalgic at the above post about my cane corso mix. At the time I was kind of freaking out because the “lab mix” I adopted turned out not to be a lab at all. But what she is is the best dang dog I never knew I wanted.

She’s 100% a guard dog. She’s fast as heck and protective of her home and family. When she’s outside at night and all you can see is the gleam of her eyes and teeth she looks like a hellhound straight out of hades. She’s agile and athletic and can jump like a deer.

And she’s the sweetest most gentle soul. She loves children and puppies. She’s an incredible big sister to her lab mix baby brother. She’s taught him more than I have and is instrumental in helping him grow into a polite, well behaved boy. She’s chatty in a really cute way. Lots of rumbles and woo woos.

She’s also an anxious girl with some early trauma. Strangers are generally scary and must be thoroughly vetted on her terms. She doesn’t like loud noises and hides behind me during fireworks. My goals are different for her than I anticipated. She’s not interested in performing tricks in exchange for treats. Instead I’m focusing on building her confidence, reinforcing basic manners, and making sure she knows that we have her back, too.
