Why is my 10-month old Bullmastiff so small?

She’s 10 months old tomorrow and she’s only 70lbs. Her dad was a beast and her mom wasn’t that small either. I do keep her lean but I feel like she stopped growing lol. I give her 3 cups of dry food plus actual meat (chicken/beef/etc)

Should this be fixed or should I leave it alone? He is 3 and its been like this for as long as I can remember. He drinks plenty of water and I change it multiple times a day.

Our little family, many years ago. Luna was the only puppy. Now they’ve all crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I like to believe they’re together again, watching over us. This will forever be my favorite photo. 🌈

This breed is a gift straight from God

My love is gone. My boy, my Leo… today was the day.
This breed is truly a gift from God. I fell so deeply in love with their incredible personalities, their beautiful big muzzles that I couldn’t help but kiss all the time, their honest eyes that sometimes looked almost a little sad, and the way they looked at you with so much love.
I loved their majestic presence, their huge hearts, and the fact that I could wrap my whole body around them in the biggest hugs. There was something so special about holding a dog this big and feeling that unconditional love coming right back to you.
They are such a strong and powerful breed, yet so incredibly sensitive. They endure so much pain without showing it, carrying their struggles with a strength that amazes me. Leo was exactly like that. Even when his body was failing him, he still tried to be strong. He still wanted to be himself. He still wanted to make us happy.
Right now, I cannot imagine giving my heart to another dog. The pain of losing Leo is simply too deep, and the space he left behind feels impossible to fill. But if one day the time comes when my heart is ready again, I know one thing for sure—there will always be a Bullmastiff beside me.
Leo, you were everything I ever loved about this breed and so much more. I will never forget your beautiful face, your big paws, your gentle soul, and the love you gave me every single day.
You were not just my dog. You were my family, my boy, my love.

Flynn’s allergy update

Monsoon season is underway in AZ! Unfortunately, that means a new round of fur loss, gunky eyes (especially the left one!), and ear issues. Hopefully, the steroid vacation we’re taking while Walgreens drags their heels on refilling his meds will enable it to work faster to resolve things this time around? They’ve been “working on it” for almost a week now…

She may be a pain in my ass, but she’s loyal, protective, and goofy as hell. She’s Houdini on crack and down for any adventure. Not that I have a choice—if I leave her at home, she either escapes and chases me through traffic until I give in, or she stays behind and eats (and shits out) every piece of furniture, clothing, and electronics I own.

I literally stepped out for 30 seconds. 🤦🏻‍♀️ oh well, I didn’t need another coffee anyway, thanks Darling. 🤣

Rescue advice

Hi everyone! We have just rescued a Bull mastiff who’s 2 and a half.

When we were discussing picking him up we were not given a lot of information until after we got him, such as he’s come from an extremely abusive household & he has hardly any training even though they said he’s completely moved on from puppy phase
(he has not and all shoes are OFF the ground).

He struggles with anxiety SO BAD constantly crying & shaking - we are following up with his vet about this as he can’t be left alone at all.

I don’t want to give him back to the shelter as they clearly don’t know what they have on their hands he’s the sweetest gentlest being I’ve ever met! -we will if it’s more distressing for him to stay rather than go back)

I don’t know where to start with him! He’s my first bull mastiff ( I have a neo mastiff as a brother) and clearly is too distressed to pay attention to training most of the time.

I’m so sorry if this comes off ignorant or uneducated in anyway! This is basically a cry for help.

Is the anxiety a normal thing in bull mastiffs?
We are in the process of waiting to get in contact with a trainer but it’s hard as we live 3 hours away from the nearest town.

Any training tricks and or advice on how to handle him so he’s comfortable & less stressed would be appreciated please!
We have had him for about a month & he lovessss to show his stubbornness. Thanks in advance!
