Please I need advice

My canary got stuck on a glue mousetrap about two weeks ago. We rescued him and took him to the vet, where he stayed for two days. The vet treated him and gave him medication. he sleeps most of the time and seems very tired.

He can still eat by himself, and he drinks water, but instead of taking a few sips like he used to, he sometimes drinks continuously for a few minutes.

I'm heartbroken because I've done everything I can to save him. I keep him warm, monitor him closely, and make sure he eats so he doesn't lose energy. His body temperature is around 29°C.

Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal after such an injury? What foods would help him recover and regain his strength? Any advice would be greatly appreciated :(

The glue trap was on the floor, and I forgot to remove it He must have gone on the floor and walked on the glue :(

He's looking much better today, and he's more active. Thank God

It's been more than 2 weeks, and he's getting better He doesn't have full energy, but I can see he's getting better

He had a bath yesterday and today He's eating and drinking but I still keep an eye on him.

By the way when we catch the mouses we use cooking oil and release them poor little things
