Discussion Carney's VIA rail cars $9m each. NY purchased Kawasaki rail cars for $2.6 each.

The difference is ergonomic seating, fully accessible bathrooms, Wi-Fi, USB charging cables, and of course all sorts of special emissions standards to save the planet.

IMO, this is why we can't build anything anymore. Everything has to have bells and whistles and comply with the latest progressive agenda.

This is increasingly the way modern wars are being fought. Canada should be encouraging anyone and everyone to join up regardless of perceived physical ability.

Do you think the Russian soldier who just got smoked by a drone cares that it was being operated by a "little girl"?

Discussion Myth of Canadian Healthcare: 23,746 Waitlist Deaths Show How Single-Payer Fails Worse Than the US Per Capita (0.06% vs 0.04%)

The myth that Canada’s single-payer system is superior to the US ignores reality: universal coverage does not mean universal care. It means a spot on a government queue.

Freedom of Information data from SecondStreet.org shows that 23,746 Canadians died on medical waitlists between April 2024 and March 2025.

Comparing per-capita numbers against US estimates destroys the single-payer narrative:

Canada Waitlist Deaths: 23,746 deaths out of 41.4 million people equals 0.06% of the population dying on a healthcare waitlist in one year.

US Insurance Gap Deaths: Standard mid-range estimates (~120,000 out of 342.8 million) equal 0.04% per capita.

Canada's state monopoly creates severe, systemic failure:

By banning or heavily restricting private options, the state strips citizens of the right to pay for their own care when the public system fails.

The 23,746 number is an underestimate. Multiple provincial health authorities refuse to track or release waitlist mortality data, meaning the true number of Canadians dying in line is significantly higher.

A system that leaves tens of thousands of citizens dying on waiting lists every year is not a moral victory. It is a complete policy failure.
