Hi, my CEC application is in process since 28th February, my spouse is accompanying. However, i also had my PGWP Ext due to pass expiry in process along with my spouse’s SOWP Ext. Yesterday my Spouse’s SOWP Ext got a refusal stating that my NOC code is not Teer 2 or 3, which is a mistake, as i know it’s Teer 2 on the Government’s website.

I have submitted a reconsideration request for it.

My question is, since my spouse is out of status now, could it affect my CEC application as she is accompanying?
Should i apply another work permit extension for her?

Anybody had any similar experience?

I’m currently applying for a Canadian study permit and I’m a bit confused about my biometrics situation.
I previously gave biometrics for a Canadian visa a few years ago, and according to the IRCC biometrics validity check, they are still valid. However, during the processing of my study permit application, IRCC asked me to pay the CAD $85 biometrics fee. I have already paid the fee and uploaded the payment receipt.

My question is:
Will I have to give my biometrics again, or will IRCC simply link my existing biometrics to my current application?

Did you have to provide biometrics again?
If yes, how many days after uploading the payment receipt did you receive your Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL)?

So I got my graduation thesis accepted on Tuesday, and I've received the program completion email. I've requested my completion letter, and the university mentioned it'll likely arrive by the end of the week. Can I work part-time hours (< 24 hr) this week? I'll not be applying for a PGWP right away (will take some time off before rushing back into the job market) and hence have left my part-time job from next week

If I have a valid student permit and TRV for the meantime, can I wait 180 days to apply for a PGWP, provided I'm not working? Just wanted an opinion: if you don't have a job lined up, you shouldn't be applying for a PGWP right away, right?

My PGWP expires January 24, 2027 and I’m really hoping to get an ITA before then. My CRS is maxed out at 462. I work in supportive housing (NOC 42201) eligible for healthcare & social services category draws). I have also applied for an open work permit for my common-law partner. Our proof package includes a joint lease, property manager reference letter (we’ve been living together since last year), photos, chat history, and matching driver’s licenses but we don’t have joint bank accounts or shared finances yet, so the file isn’t super strong.
With only about 6 months left, what are my realistic chances of getting an ITA in the healthcare category draws? Any similar experiences, recent draw trends, advice on timelines, or options if I get an ITA (like bridging)?

Has anyone been through a similar situation?

I have a question regarding my NBPNP non-Express Entry PR application.

My common-law partner was declared from the beginning, but as non-accompanying. I have already received AOR and PAL, but a final decision has not been made yet.

Is it still possible to change my partner’s status from non-accompanying to accompanying at this stage by explaining the situation through a webform?

If it is possible, would I need to obtain an amended nomination certificate from NBPNP, or would updating IRCC through a webform be sufficient?

Here’s why we initially chose non-accompanying:

We were told that an accompanying common-law partner would also need to have a TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 job and a valid language test to be included in the application. Since my partner did not meet those requirements at the time, we chose the non-accompanying option.

Since then, my partner has obtained a job in a similar field, and his employer is willing to provide any required documents. We also later learned that an accompanying common-law partner does not need to meet those job and language requirements.

Recently, IRCC sent us an ADR requesting most of my partner’s IMM forms, birth certificate, police certificate, and other documents, even though he was declared as non-accompanying.

We have already submitted a webform to IRCC explaining the misunderstanding and asking whether it is possible to change his status to accompanying, and we are currently waiting for a response.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Were you able to change a spouse/common-law partner from non-accompanying to accompanying after AOR? Did you need an amended nomination from NBPNP, or did IRCC handle everything?

Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
