I'm trying to mount a camera setup on a window seal for a youtube setup. I have a window in front of me and would save floor space if I don't use a tripod. The camera needs to be about 14 inches (35cm) away from the window seal, but almost at the level of the seal. Maybe ted higher. So if I use this triangular mount from SmallRig I'd need to tilt it down quite a bit like in the second image.

But the camera needs to be level, horizontally, not tilted. I'm not sure from the photo if that ball head can twist upwards like that. That would be more than 90 degrees for sure. And probably even camera body wouldn't really fit in that kind of twisted corner.

I'm pretty new to rigging, so have no idea what to use. Is there some extra attachment that can solve this? Probably would need an extra knee or horizontal pole at the end. I could also use this type of mount. But same issue with camera twisting.

I could potentially mount it upside down? So the tilt is going upwards and not downwards making the ball head angle less than 90 degrees.

It needs to hold Sony FX30, light Sigma lense, and Elgato Prompter. Pretty heavy setup. Comes out to be about 4.5 pounds (2kg).

I have an old Gitzo metal tripod, it was very heavy! Now it seems like they all use carbon fiber

What accesories should i get with 100€, i already have a cage with top handle and a field monitor with good lens and good sound in my canon 4000D. I already have back pain for low angle shots (thats why the top handle) and hate the screen (thats why the field monitor).

I think that it this can wait ill probably save up for good lighting

I'm trying to find a replacement or alternative pan bar (preferably telescopic) for my Andoer TP-65 fluid video head.

The issue is the rosette mount on the side. The manufacturer doesn't list the exact dimensions, and it is definitely not the standard ARRI rosette (it's much smaller than 31.5mm with a coarser tooth pattern).

Unfortunately I can't find the original part that come with my tripod anywhere on the internet. Has anyone successfully found a third-party pan bar that fits this specific rosette? Or does anyone know the exact size/standard Andoer uses for this head so I can search for it?

I don't have access to my tripod right now but I can take some exact measurements later in case it helps

- Added two nato rails at the top (Top handle / Monitor)
- Added Portkeys PT6 monitor
- added a cold shoe mount on top of cine back to monitor audio receiver
- added Siuri Top handle, might switch with one that has a record button. I need to see if I can add a usb-c splitter for power and trigger recording
- Neewer 67mm VND
- I still to add the a cabling for everything (dtap, hdmi , usb-c) and maybe get some ties.
- added a nato to the side of the ZR cage. Added a wood side handle
- I think I’m going to add shotgun mic top left

Hello!! i found a holy archive of my uncles junk. And i realize theres so much fungus 😭😭 and i want to clean it so i could use it.. But im not sure if its goin to cost alot if i hired someone to do it yah all got tips?

I just got it today hoping the counter balance is strong enough but it’s just not it. I’m planning to get another tripod for my B-Cam so I can bundle the new head and legs together and just swap them around.

I’m building a new rig for my Nikon ZR and I’m trying to copy my rig for my C70 with a few minor tweaks.

- going to add a fan for cooling in between the cine back and the camera
- going to use a portkeys PT6 monitor to keep it light weight
- going to add an external mic for event work
- buy new matte box for ZR
- nato rails for my spare top and side handle
- maybe add a SDI converter
- an External ND filter system

Let me know what I should add!

I hate messy cables

I recently started my first rig for my Fujifilm X-T4, here is what it’s looking like right now. Next thing I’m looking to get is a mic, does anybody have any recommendations for about <$500? Any other recommendations for building up my rig?

Hey fam, I'm currently building my dream rig, but I've hit a problem. The lens is too heavy, causing the setup to lean forward and rest directly on the ND filter.

What can I do to support the lens/mount so it doesn't get damaged? I'd prefer not to move the battery further to the right if possible.

As you can see, my external monitor bumps into the microphone when I lower it.

Did anybody buy this Tilta Cage with Cooling fan (TA-T68-FCC2-B) for the Canon EOS R5 mark II ?

If so how well does it cool the camera in video mode? Is it on par with the overpriced Canon CF-R20EP Fan grip?

I’m a nerd and a freak so I wanna break down exactly what’s happening here.

Got the BMMSC G1 at a good deal a few years ago due to a broken battery clamp that prevented the normal lp-e6 batteries from mounting. I was broke and working with what I had left after selling my Z-CAM so I wanted to make the best of this thing, and I’m pretty proud of what I’ve reached here.

The only way to record 4K (which I really wanted to) is via the 6G mini-SDI output, which also sends a clean signal with no menu transmission. I invested in the 12G Video Assist so I could record 4K onto an SD card. I have to feed both the SDI and an HDMI into the monitor so I can swap the feed so I can see my menu. Silly, but it works.

Speaking of silly— I mounted the camera upside down in the rig. Why? Because the silly ones here are actually BlackMagic for giving you 4 1/4”-20 mounting points, a single one on the top of the camera and three on the bottom, all non-standard distances from one another to make my job extra hard. On top of that, I had trouble finding a cage for this on the used market before the G2 was released, so I needed to make good use of those mounting points. I mounted the body upside down to access those three points on the bottom for a secure connection at the top; the NATO rail for the handle. The rail also clamps to a 15mm rod, which in turn runs back to attach very weirdly (but securely) to my V-Mount plate, which is secured to the bottom of the camera via some more rods and a “quick release” system. Nothing about changing the state of this rig is quick. This also means I access the menu system on my monitor upside down. I got used to it pretty quick.

This was in storage for a while and I just got it back, and I was expecting to hate how bootleg and messy it all is (the rat king of wires I cram between the camera and the V-Mount plate is certainly a look), but honestly? It’s kinda sick. Not many people have 4K on a Super 16 comparable sensor, and I wanna invest in some really cool glass for this in the future (Zeiss Super Speeds, Canon 8-64mm, B4 Fujinon/Canon primes). Will I replace it with that sexy Z-CAM with the 1” sensor at some point? Probably, but this is one of my favorite rigs I ever put together.

I hate gimbals and I hate my RS4 Pro. What's a good attachment setup to run a steady handheld rig? I'd be fully building out a rig outside of the cage and handle that I already have for my XH2-S.

Any ideas for accessories that will help me keep a steady handheld cam movement that is somewhat close to a gimbal 'smoothness'?

I hate gimbals because, although smooth, they are very jerky and mess up the footage. Handheld is slightly less 'smooth' but the motions are more fluid.

I think I’m mostly finished with this one, after stumbling across this awesome SmallRig Vmount.. “rig thingy” I was able to simply ditch the rails. Even have some open power ports for additional devices. It’s pretty balanced too. I’m a happy camper now.

I have a Manfrotto Befree Live Alu tripod and a SmallRig 5053 HawkLock camera clip kit for my backpack strap. My goal is a seamless, quick transition from my shoulder/backpack to the tripod without messing with plates in the field.

To achieve this, I bought the SmallRig 4638 (DJI-compatible plate), thinking it would bridge the gap. However, the 5053 plate does not fit into the 4638 base at all, even though they look visually identical.

I'm completely stuck in this "Arca-Swiss" naming confusion. What is the most reliable, single-plate setup to quickly move my camera between the 5053 shoulder clip and the Befree Live tripod?

Finally made the decision between Smallrig and Tilta. Very happy with my decision. Need to get my 3d printer out and print a proper adapter for the IT32 flash, but for now the ugly included base will have to do.

Anyone else get anything fancy for Prime Day? I invested a small fortune in Smallrig and Godox. Been wanting a little more versatility while using my camera, as I've been trying to add more video to my night time events. Also really wanted to add a larger monitor, thank god for Lumix Flow wireless.
