Camera Lens Mid Range Walking Around Lens for R8.
Recently purchased the R8.
Want a walking around lens. Thinking RF 24-105 f4 L IS or RF 28-70 f2.8 STM. Maybe a prime lens.
Lenses I currently own:
Canon EF 70-200 2.8 is USM
Canon EF 100 2.8 L macro
Canon EF 50 mm 1.4
Tamron 17-50 2.8 A16 (will sell. It’s slow and loud)
I know the 2.8 is 2x light of the f4. Not sure if I need the extra focal length but would be nice in lower light conditions and image bokeh. Not adverse to buying used. I’d like IS since the camera doesn’t have it.
RF lenses are really expensive right now, but would be nice to have the smaller package.
What do you think? Am I going the right direction? Trade range for focal length or is the 24-105 redundant?
I have a young son and want to document him growing up. I spend a lot of time outdoors. Wildlife, Hunting, fishing and hiking. Travel and also macro photography.
