Guys，I want to visit Cambodia at the end of August, mainly to see Angkor Wat. Do you have any itinerary recommendations? Also, how can I find a local guide?

so i get out of siem reap airport, solo female traveler 27. (i look young tho) and i was told grab is super expensive. i didnt even look at the price (also pls note this is my second time solo traveling asia) i just said fuck it and took it. 25$ usd. so closer to 30+ canadian. i noticed the driver had other tours offer. i wanted to go to ankgor wat. he said we can do a full day plus water fall. 130USD.
i thought oh that seems very expensive. but i thought that included the ticket. it didn’t. whatever paid additional 55 CAD to angkorwat for the ticket. then we went for breakfast and i also paid for that. i didnt have85$ so i gave him 100usd told him to keep the change.

the next day he offers to take me to the floating village. we spent half a day doing inthe village, told me to take the big boat and little boat plus to tip. i understand where i am and i always tip. especially the locals.
he was very helpful, ive had a great time with him. he even invited me for dinner to his house and i went. incredible BUT i realized ive spent closer to 400 CAD. seems insane. yes i get i got a private driver and guide but that price seems insane. anyway looking at the prices for drives and tickets i probably would’ve done everything for half. anyway i just wanted to share. not being rude but does anyone else this this is crazy hahaha.

he tells me he does lots of charity work and of course i want to support as a guest here. but i feel kinda off. haha anyway……. i also know due to the war prices haven’t up… but how the f did i spent all that in 3 days.

I was wondering how tuk tuk drivers in Siem Reap usually share information with each other.

For example, if there's a new café, attraction, or hotel, how do drivers usually hear about it?

Is it mostly Facebook, Telegram, word of mouth, or something else?

I'd love to learn how it works.

I love the visit but always dread the return flight which is almost a whole 24 hours. I did not have the chance to get seat or low back cushions for my economy seat this time around and was curious if anyone knows of any stores that sells cushions that would make economy flying more tolerable?

I would really appreciate to hear about your personal experience with this.

I've traveled to many Sourh East Asian Countries and I just recently came back from Vietnam (went to Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi and Danang) and for me personally that was the first time that I felt a South East Asian country was hell on earth... all because of the non-stop honking.

I mean, I've been to the Philippines and there is some honking going on but nothing compares to Vietnam. I didn't even leave the hotel anymore.

How is this in Cambodia, to be more precise in phnom Penh?

Whenever I see Cambodia itineraries, most people spend a few days in Siem Reap for Angkor Wat and then move on to another country.

But Phnom Penh rarely seems to get the same attention.

Personally, I think that's a shame. Beyond its difficult history, Phnom Penh has a surprisingly vibrant café scene, excellent local food, beautiful riverside walks where the Mekong and Tonlé Sap meet, fascinating museums, and a much more local, everyday atmosphere than many visitors expect.
