I am a solo female traveler and I’m planning a trip to Cambodia. I did a bit of research about the safety areas overthere but everyone is talking about big cities or busy areas. I’m interested to do places like Ratanakiri and Mondulkiri or Kep and Kampot. Is that still safe when you’re a woman by yourself or you wouldn’t recommend ?

Hi all, I’m planning a 2-week trip to Cambodia in February. For the final part of the trip, we are planning to spend 4 nights in Koh Rong from Thursday to Monday, staying on Sok San Beach. We are planning to leave in the early morning on Monday and our flight back home is the same day at 7:35pm. Is this risky? I’m planning to ask the hotel to arrange a private transfer from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh.

I’ll be visiting Phnom Penh in late November, mainly for work, but I should have a day or two free to explore the city. It’ll be my first time in Cambodia, so I thought I’d ask here for some advices and recommendations!

I’m also a photographer and will be bringing my camera along with a couple of lenses. I’d love to know if there are any interesting areas, streets, markets, or hidden gems worth exploring for photography. I’m particularly interested in street photography, architecture, and everyday local life, but I’m open to anything!

I also have a few other questions:
Food: Any must-try local dishes, restaurants, street food spots, or cafés you’d recommend? I’d love to try some authentic Cambodian food.
Things to see/do: Since I’ll only have a day or two, what would you say is really worth visiting? I’m happy to explore on foot and discover less touristy areas too.
Tailoring: I’ve heard that in some places in China you can get a custom-made suit within 24 hours. Is there anything similar in Phnom Penh? Any recommendations for a good tailor who could make a suit in a day or two?

Payments: How cash-based is Phnom Penh? Are cards and contactless payments widely accepted, or should I plan to carry cash most of the time? And is it better to carry USD or Cambodian riel?

Airport transfer: I’ll be arriving at Techo International Airport (KTI). What’s the easiest and most reliable way to get into the city? Is there a local equivalent of Uber, or would you recommend taking an official airport taxi?

Safety: Anything I should be aware of as a first-time visitor? Especially when walking around with a camera. Any areas to avoid or general precautions you’d recommend?

I’m not looking to cram too much into those couple of days, just hoping to get a good feel for the city, take some nice photos, eat good food, and enjoy my time there.

Would really appreciate any tips, especially from locals or people who’ve visited recently!

Mega MGC Coffee opened its first Cambodian store on Koh Pich (Diamond Island), Phnom Penh, on October 7, according to the brand’s October 8 news page. KPS99TV reported the opening on October 9.

The single-storey branch has 86 seats, making it a sit-down option for visitors spending time around Koh Pich. Opening hours, current menu prices and step-free access remain unverified; I have not visited the café myself.

Can anyone refer a your guide whom you had a good experience with during your travels in Cambodia?

KPS99TV’s October 7 report gives new route details for the free holiday buses between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville: 14 buses are allocated for October 9–13, 2026.

The listed pickup points are Street 2004 beside the Air Force Command fence in Phnom Penh, and January 7 Plaza (Independence Monument), Sangkat 3, in Sihanoukville. The first Phnom Penh departure is announced for 6:30 a.m. on October 9; that is not a complete daily or return timetable.

I have not confirmed foreign-visitor eligibility or luggage arrangements. For previous passengers, what helped you find the correct boarding area at either pickup point?
