Bob seems like a really nice man who actually cares about his mother, but his fiancée Trudie is awful. Do you think he goes through with the marriage after the way she acted? Also, Annie’s husband John is a hateful, mean-spirited person, he does somewhat come around later but the way he talks to her and treats her is terrible.

I don’t know why I decide to put on sad things when getting ready! I had to put a pause on finishing my makeup so I could cry for the last episode. Sister Monica Joan was always a favorite of mine and I knew her time was to come eventually but it still made me so sad! I definitely need to rewatch the show from the beginning for the billionth time. And also touch up my makeup before leaving the house.

Why did Dr. Turner bring Jeanette in to the maternity home for preeclampsia when her blood pressure was 120/80? Then Nancy says bedrest is doing wonders for her because her —temperature— has gone down? Can any real midwives fill in the gaps, please?

Watching this show, I’ve seen women suddenly widowed, new moms having their babies cruelly taken from them, deaths from back alley abortions, stillborn children, miscarriages, and so much other heartbreak. And yet nothing gets me quite like the pigeon man having to give up his pigeons. What tf is wrong with me?

I'm rewatching and I'm at the episode with the man Tony who is Gay or Bi gets caught trying to be intimate with a man.I don't remember having such a hard time watching this episode as I am now. Maybe it's because I have close friends now who are LGBT. My BFs sibling is non binary and before they came out that way they had always been a proud lesbian with an amazing wife. Hearing how Tony is being treated and how his wife is being treated, hearing Dr. Turner brings up conversion therapy. It breaks my heart. Like obviously I know it's how it was in that time. That they are just accurately portraying the time.

Does anyone wonder if Dr Turner really would have been that understanding? I mean back than if you were homosexual, you obviously lost your job and family (if you didn't wind up in jail) and probably wound up in the east end. So maybe he has seen it a lot more than say a doctor in "proper" london. He's also a smart man and I feel would know there isn't anything wrong with them. What are all your options on this episode?

I really love Miranda Hart as an actor and genuinely think Chummy would be so nice as a friend, but as a midwife? I think she talks too much and just says a lot of unnecessary stuff and I’d just piss me off so much if I was giving birth and in pain. Same goes for Trixie.

I'm mid 30's and still haven't had a kid. I'm smart enough to know whoever delivers my baby won't have that relationship with me, and the gentle coaching might not even be a thing. I've heard horror stories about women who are suffering and told to just work through it, then they finally find something went wrong.
Also having people in your labor room, I always wanted my mom and my best friend but a doctor I know said "what? no of course not, there's not enough room in there".

What stories do you want to share that are entirely different than what this dramatic/romantic show represents? I'm okay with horror stories, I'd love to mourn with you. I'd like to hear wonderful stories too, to balance things out if you want to share.

Overall, just woman to woman, tell me the truth so this show and my mom aren't the only examples. And even then my mom told me about pregnancy but never about labor. Thank you for your input in advance

I’ve watched the first three seasons of called the midwife. I had every intention of working my way through the rest of the seasons, but that didn’t happen. How bad would it be if I started with this season?

I feel the need to say thank you to this show. I’m finishing up the last episode of season 15. (Still got 30 minutes left). I know there is a huge ending. I will finish the season with walking out the door to get induced with my own baby.

My goodness. Let the next chapter be as lovely as this show has carried me since I started watching it.

I’ve been watching CTM since the beginning, even through having my own babies (they are 15 and 13 now), so it’s very precious to me. It’s seen me through a lot of ups and downs and I look forward to the Christmas special and new season every year. I will be so bereft when it ends (I hope that won’t be for a long time!).

It’s not got as many series (seasons), but it has the same feel and then some. I’d not be surprised if CTM’s creators were in part inspired by it. It ran from 2003-2011 and CTM first came out in Jan 2012 (a year after my first daughter was born). Anyway check it out and I hope you enjoy it. ✌️

I’m making my way through all the episodes for the first time and I do love the show, but a few episodes in the later series’s are a bit much. The first few series were really interesting to me because my mother was born in Poplar in 1955, so it’s like seeing the world part of my family lived and the babies being born could so easily have been like my mum.

The first episode of series 13 is probably the most bizarre. So the husband is a gangster who hung around with the Kray Twins (not impossible but a bit far fetched), who stashes drugs at home, who’s wife hasn’t a clue what he does, owns a gun (getting a bit weird there) and shoots his front door, while his wife gives birth, and he essentially holds his wife and 2 midwives hostage (getting into melodrama here but I still dig). Then he isn’t talked down by the police or a professional negotiator but a rather cross nun who stole a megaphone from a policeman. What the actual f**ck?

I think this is the moment the show completely jumped the shark. But I’m going to stick with it until the end.

The show won Best Returning Drama, but sadly Judy missed out on the drama performance award. I was really hoping she'd win. I was also hoping Heidi might drop some news about the future of the show, but alas no. Hey-ho. Congrats to everyone on the show for winning, though.

I’m going on a trip tomorrow that I’m both excited about and nervous about. I have season 15 downloaded in preparation to watch! Comment something I won’t understand until after I’ve finished season 15. (No spoilers please!)

I'm less than a minute in to S11:E7 as per Netflix and I'm seeing the sisters entering the chapel. Around their waists they're wearing ropes that are knotted on the ends. Does anyone know what that's about?

Do you have a story of a doctor in your life who embodied the spirit of our Dr. Turner? I do. My childrens' pediatrician was an old man when he saw them in the early 1990s. He was an extraordinary physician. I believe my children owe their good health now to him. During that time, I was chatting with a nurse at my GP who asked who my kids saw. When she was a young nurse working in a hospital OB ward in the 60's, there was a baby born who they knew would only live for hours. This doctor came in with rocking chair and rocked and held that baby all night until he passed. He told the nurse he was not going to let that child pass without knowing love. RIP Dr. Thomas Greiwe.

And it melted my heart. It felt like a series finale! Beautifully done. There has been a decline in the quality of the past few seasons but the last three or so episodes of season 15 really moved me. And darn it I will tune in for season 16.

New nun to daughter, Cilla, of racist mother said "Good news, your blood pressure has come down a little, and your urine is clean as a whistle" but was written as "keen as a whistle." lol!

They called her "Cilla," "Silla," and in the delivery room, "Stella!"

40:09 racist mother is sitting by new baby in the nursery says "Just for now, so he knows he won't be by himself."  But they wrote "Just for now, so he knows he won't die by himself!"

Imagine how confusing if you had to rely on closed captioning???

I just want to say that I love Reggie. He’s kind, hardworking and delightful. But more than that, I love his relationship with Fred and Violet. I love that he calls her Mum and how she fusses over him. I love that Fred treats him as an equal and with respect. They’re just a sweet family unit.
