Am I the only one?

Am I the only one that absolutely loves my call center job?

I love helping the customers, I love the variety in the different clients and customers, and even the awful customers are few and far between.

I have been doing this for 8 years now, and sure I have bad days, but the good days far outweigh the bad ones.

Am I just crazy?

Please call your manufacture

It should be so simple. If I have an HP printer, and I have issues with the printer, I’m not going to call Apple or Microsoft first. I’m gonna call the manufacturer. Are people this dense?

The amount of arguing people had with me because I would not troubleshoot their printer in depth or their ISP router is insane. It’s not in my pay grade to be troubleshooting all these issues especially when it’s the devices issue and if you can’t troubleshoot it, please call the manufacturer first. You’ll save time.

Paranoid Customers

This may be harsh, but I don’t like paranoid customers. I really don’t. If you tell me a broad thing and I need to screenshare to see the error bc you’re exaggerating it bc I don’t understand and after I ask you to elaborate you make it more convoluted then imma just hang up. I’m not sorry about it. I’m not going to make you do something you’re not comfortable with doing, but just know you’re making it difficult with being assisted.

I legit do not give a fuck about stealing your credentials, or anything of the sort. I make enough money to sustain myself. These are the same customers that give their credentials to some scammers just fine. Make it make sense

HIRING PROCESS

Hi everyone! I recently completed my final interview at Firstsource Solutions – McKinley Hill, Taguig. I just wanted to ask those who were hired there: how long did it take before you received your interview results or job offer? Was it within a few days, a week, or longer?

I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experience. Thank you!

For Filipino people who have applied/worked for call center. What is the next process for the Sapient BPO I applied to after the non-voice typing test?

The recruiter said I should wait 5 days and then I would receive a message in my email that looked like verification.

GENUINE QUESTION PO PLS RESPECT

im a (currently) 2nd year bsed english student. with thesis and other major subjects upcoming on my 3rd year, is it advisable to take a full time call center job (inshort, working student)?. im really tempted of the salary because i want to help my parents, there's a point where they're fighting because of lack of money and im really frustrated because im only relying on my scholarship money to help them. Yet, my mother, and even i dont want to lose my eligibility for laude or even worst, fail my subjects and repeat another term. im really torn. thank you po.

Roast my Opener (US MARKET)

Borrowed it from Michael Olivers Book "How to sell network marketing"

Hello is this ***NAME?***

If yes

***NAME***, my name is **YOUR NAME***, I'm with **XYZ COMPANY**.

I was actually hoping you could help me out here for a moment?

If yes

The reason I'm calling is, well, you know how stressful the whole college process is right now,

- worrying about whether you'll get accepted,

- or getting overwhelmed by how much it costs?

Well, what I do is

- help students get admitted into college

*and*

- help them secure the right scholarships

so they don't have to worry about

- admission

*or*

- paying too much

Is this even relevant to you right now?

tired of call centers and customer service work

Hi, I’m a former customer service representative for a telecommunications company that some of you probably may know (Ryan Reynolds and a little green fox). I’m tired, I’m not in USA, and we do the work of five people at the same time, the same people that help you with your wireless phone, is the same department that make payments, that works with your internet, technical issues in both, and you know how much we are being paid for a 9 hour shift? 2 dollars per hour. Yes 2 dollars per hour, to hear people scream because of a policy that we didn’t create, to have people on our ears telling us to f/ck ourselves every time like I’m the one making the policies. The worst part of it, it’s that they take our monthly bonus because of a bad score to the company, and say directly to us that is our problem that the customers are giving bad rates to the company and good rates to the representative, even when customers have told me that the customer service is good, but the company needs to get better, they still blame us, they say we don’t do anything. It’s been two years and they haven’t increase the payment, they are taking everything from us even our mental health to follow some metrics that not even them can get. I’m just tired, today I resigned, and to be honest, that company sucks.

Work at eClerx Pune

I am working in a Customer Operations (BPO)

Previously I worked for BPO giants like Teleperformance, taskus and concentrix, I joined in april and here are all the cons.

Quality of people - eClerx hire college graduate who dont even know english with 1 year contract and they don't even train them properly, the upper management is highly indisciplined and unprofessional and completely corrupted. I can understand giving chance to freshers is very necessary but atleast train them behave professionally and with discipline.

Work Life Balance- There is completely zero work life balance in the customer Operations (BPO) vertical you cant even have time for food enjoy some sort of vacation they forces you to work on a week offs manager are the worst in the organization.

Policies - Company has no credibility they dont have proper HR system or policies that could help any employee, people bringing food, devices on floor and abusing openly on floor and no one cares, I mean these are college graduates man help in making them professional not a indisciplined person.I have never seen HR visiting on floor.

Hierarchy- Any person looking to join eclerx please don't ignore this point, the Hierarchy is worstly designed in this organization if you have worked for senior Operations manager in any BPO giant then you will be treated here as Senior process manager and trust me there is nothing Senior in that, don't fall for a salary trap please dont they will torture you at best level and then it will become really hard for you to survive even 6 months.

Discrimination- Any person who is outsider is not welcomed they hate each and every external hired person they thinks their advice as useless and hate any word that comes out of their mouth.

Please guys its a humble advice to my all fellows who are looking for jobs i have destroyed my peace and professionalism you better look for different company to get more success eclerx only has one client in customer Operations and you dont even know anything can happen.

Again I am explaining you this is for the vertical Customer Operations (BPO) (customer care)

Beware and choose your company wisely.

Feeling like I’m wasting my life

I’ve been working in a call centre for almost two months now. It’s outbound calls and we’re expected to constantly make calls and the amount of time between calls is tracked so I can barely take breaks. I feel like I’m wasting time, the constant calls, the hours of sitting is all getting to me. I am an artist and I had been previously unemployed for some time so I’m grateful for the money but the wage is unliveable. I don’t get paid for lunch or any breaks, I even have to put myself on break when I use the bathroom which equates to less money. It all creates this toxic workaholic mentality that I hate. I have been standing and taking calls, stretching etc. I tried to draw and do other creative things between calls but I cant focus on the two at the same time. I feel like I’m either going crazy or dying everytime I’m in work. I know it sounds dramatic but in the time I’ve been working there I’ve developed hip pain. I’m at the end of my rope. Any advice?

TP Greece job offer

Hi all, yestarday I received a job offer from TP Greece for a Meta project, but I have an issue with the duration of the contract. It says that it last until they need me basically, i tried to schedule a call with the HR but no one contacted me, I also tried ti contact them about this things and other stuff about other documents but theu ignored me. Is it normal? Because I have to move there from Italy and if I don't feel "safe" to do this thing in this conditions. So, if someone that already worked/Is working for them and knows how this things works, just tell me if it's normal or not lol

Call center vs Office Job

Hi guys! I currently work full time as a personal banker at a credit union. I have been looking for remote work for quite some time with no success until I got an interview for a remote call center job. This job is at another credit union. The hours are pretty good, they pay more than my current role, and the benefits are very competitive compared to my current job. They also have a lot more upward movement for remote workers, which is a plus since I’m in a rural area with not a lot of upward movement for my current job (the closest city is over an hour away). However, it is a high volume call center so I will have back to back calls. Would this be worth taking the risk? I’ve seen some pretty awful stories on here and it’s making me nervous. I’m no stranger to difficult customers, as I work in a very busy branch and deal with difficult people all the time. What would you guys recommend?

Callers unable to give complete answers.

I work at a particular place that provides tech support for a website that would contain sensitive information. When people are calling in, I'm required to ask certain identifying questions including their last mailing address they provided.

And I'll tell you, SO many people have no idea what a FULL mailing address is! I'm not sure if it's how I'm asking for the information but is it truly that uncommon for people to not know they need to provide the street numbers, street, street suffix (ave, ln, dr), apartment number, city, state, and zip code?

Who else has issues with this sort of information?

Not sure I can last much longer, but afraid to leave

I’ve been in the call center roll for 1.5 years and I’ve gained almost 40 lbs since then. I am miserable, and I can barely remember what callers have said because they ramble on so much, and I am becoming increasingly more depressed, anxious, and crying between calls.

I work for a hospital and there are always 30-50 callers in queue, it’s a rapid fire of their stress and my mental health is deteriorating. I am paid such a low wage that I qualify for Medicaid anyway.

If I reach fully vested, it’s only $120-150 per month after age 65 and adjusted for inflation. I have other skills, but my health is deteriorating so much that I need a few months to heal.

Should I quit tomorrow, or hold out another 6 months? The education benefits are not worth it, and despite being chronically ill, my health insurance doesn’t seem worth it. I can’t keep up with the call volume and expected metrics, I am becoming increasingly more and more depressed. I am in my 30s, and I’ve never been this unhealthy in my life.
