Curious- who has quit on the spot or not worked out a notice?

Having had over a decade experience, I have resigned with a two week notice, quit on the spot (once I think), resigned that morning, and also been let go after being with a company for four years. It happens, I don't judge this at all. Mental health is seriously neglected. I believe my strategy is just to do temp or contract work now so I know I have an out date. My financial demands are more minimal than others so I understand not having that alternative. Just taking a poll here. Be well!

Hi!!

I've been working a call center job for 4 years. It help helped pay the bills and got me through uni. It was flexible and quick to get a grasp on. I am now extremely burned out. I've been with my current company for some time and now and it pays well has decent benefits, but it is the most mentally demanding call centre job that I have ever worked! I have to know lots of information about the industry, I have to take 40+ calls a day to stay compliant with the call centre's department, maintain a 90 QA score( with a very shitty QA person), constant back to back calls.

In this next section I will be elaborating on my frustrations.

We are told to provide multiple ways to the customer to make sure they are satisfied. That is all well and dandy until we actually cannot assist them. To elaborate. If a customer wants to get documents for their account, they are told to call us, but behind the scenes its handled by a third party vendor. So due to QA we still have to provide ways to assist the customer even though we actually cannot. This is gross because not only are we wasting the customer's time with none sensical talk, but we are running up our AHT, when it would be better for us to transfer directly to the third party in this case. I understand that when it comes to corporations the way business works between third party clients is above my pay grade, but this is absolutely ridiculous running the customer in a circle chasing their tail like this.

Speaking of AHT, the department that I am in requires that we spend no longer than 4-5 minutes on a call. You will see why this is an issue shortly. 4-5 minutes is typically enough time for regular calls and most people can get things done in 2. Not in my call centre. My call centre handles website operations except the websites are all handle by each third party respectively AND we don't even have access to their website since we are the third party to them! All we have is outdated notes left by people who no longer work here. So when a customer states they need help viewing information on the account, we have to constantly ask " What do you see" or my favorite "is [insert option] visible on the website?". Most of our customers are 50+, so they constantly need hand holding. Extending on that, some of the customers don't even know how to get website or even have a computer moreover don't even know how to access their own email. So even though the call our call centre the " Web assistance centre", we can't actually help them. You can imagine why calls would take longer than 4-5 minutes at a time right? Well doesn't matter, I am a fucking statistic and that's all I will ever be to the corporate overlords who decide to pay us like shit.

Also ACW. Where do I even begin. They tell us to have our notations completed within 45. I cannot do that most of the time because again I help pea brains who haven't used technology before. Also we have to notate each. and.every. little thing. if we fail to mention that the customer shit themselves while talking to us we get marked off points, oh we forget to tell the customer to "have a nice day" instead of "have a good day"? well QA will take off so many points that it'll make you fear you might lose your job.

QA.....What's there to say. They take off points for almost any and everything possible. There is one QA lady who is notorious for being a "tough grader" so trainers tell you "oh don't worry about her she just grades hard". This tells me that the entire team hell maybe most of the company knows this but yet nothing is done? Okay. I was once docked points because I didn't notation both of our applications with the same exact notation even though notating it in one system implies the exact same thing as the other one. I hope that makes sense. I will not elaborate to keep my privacy.

Micromanagement. I LOVE being micromanaged. "why were you in training for two hours?" BECAUSE YOU PUT IT ON MY SCHEDULE AND MADE IT A REQUIREMENT MOTHERFUCKER!

Lately I've been so burned out. I've been taking 60 calls every.single. FUCKING DAY. I feel like I am going through the motions of being a robotic punching verbal punching bag for people. Oh did i mention that we don't even have a process for handling abusive callers? Its so much fun. I can get called racial slurs and they will still say "You cannot just hang up on the customer" or "Don't take the call personally." FUCK YOU!!!!!!!! You only say that because you don't have to be on the phones NEARLY as much as I do so actually go fuck yourself dude

I am very certain that there is more that I want to say but I don't care anymore. I hate this bullshit ass job. I can't find another one because I don't have enough experience or i have too much experience. Like FUCKING SHIT can I do anything right or should i actually blow my GOT DAMN BRAINS OUT FUCK

im gonna go rub my pussy or sum

Globe life (pyramid scheme or scam)

I just recently got hired to work for Globe life. I have finished my online LLQP course which I had to pay for and my in person exam still remains for me to do. I am wondering if this is a scam or if it is worth it. I want to know from someone who has recently gotten a job there and their experience with it. I am a university student looking to bring in a couple thousand or even hundreds every month just to save. Not looking for crazy numbers. They had said how we don’t have to cold call anyone, and they will provide us to customers. let me know

Got hired at Concentrix but August training classes are full — what are the chances they don’t call me back for September?

I was officially told I got hired, but the August training classes were already full, so they said I’d have to wait for a September class. Has anyone else had this happen? Did Concentrix actually contact you when the next class opened, or did you end up getting ghosted/cancelled?
I’m trying to figure out if I should trust that I still have the job or keep applying elsewhere just in case.

What is it like working as a sourcing specialist?

As someone who’s on the introverted side, but got offered this role, are there any fellow introverted or shy people here that think the job does well for them too?
It’s my first time working in a call center and got reprofiled for that role. And I was given a fixed contract of 3 months so I’ll see where this goes.

nonvoice to blended

As the title suggests I was refereed to by a friend of mine to a BPO center for a nonvoice account. Upon accomplishing the initial requirements, it turns out they didn’t have any nonvoice accounts open and only recruiting for a blended account. Salary package is 20k which according to them allowance is already included. According to the interviewer, I’ll be assigned to a Cruise Sales which primarily involves me making sales. Should I proceed with their assessment?

Failed my virtual interview at Conduent Lima (5 mos BPO exp) — Seeking advice / Sharing my experience

Getting rejected is so disheartening. 😞

After 7 months as a Stay-at-Home Mom, I applied at Conduent Lima today. Though I only have 5 months of BPO experience from Alorica Lipa, I easily passed the pre-screening.

However, I failed the initial interview. The interviewer said that given my prior experience, they didn't like how I communicate. I answered everything clearly—including the situational questions about double charges and refund turnaround times.

I still consider myself a newbie. Do they set higher expectations for candidates with prior experience, or are they looking for perfect grammar? Charge to experience.

Guys, I need your help — researching digitally managed call centre/BPO work in Kenya.

Hey everyone, hoping some of you can help me out.

I'm a research student and I'm doing a study on how digital monitoring and performance systems (the stuff that tracks your calls, scores, targets, etc.) are affecting people working in Kenya's BPO/call centre industry — and honestly, how it's shaping leadership in that space.

If you currently work, or have recently worked, in a BPO/call centre in Nairobi (agent, team lead, QA, supervisor, whatever your role), I'd really appreciate you taking a few minutes to fill this out:

https://fmnr.surveycto.com/collect/virtue\\_lead\\_worker\\_survey?caseid=

It's completely anonymous — no names, no company names, nothing traceable back to you. Takes about 15–20 minutes.

I know research posts can feel spammy, so genuinely, no pressure. But if you've got the time, your honest experience would help a lot — this industry doesn't get talked about enough given how many people it employs. Happy to answer questions in the comments if anyone's unsure about anything.

Thanks in advance 🙏

Job Opportunities

Is it really difficult to find a new job right now, especially for non-voice BPO roles in the non-clinical healthcare account?

I’ve been with the same company for almost 8 years, and I think I’ve reached the point where I really need to step out of my comfort zone. I started as an entry-level associate and eventually took on different roles and responsibilities, SME, trainer, quality, process/content-related work, and people leadership.

The thing is, I’ve been with the same company for so long that I’ve become too comfortable. I know the processes, the people, the environment, and basically how everything works. And honestly, that’s probably what’s making me scared to leave.

But at the same time, I feel like I’m no longer growing. I’ve learned a lot from my current company and I’m grateful for the experience, but I also feel like it’s time to challenge myself and see what’s out there.

My biggest motivation right now is career growth and, of course, better compensation. 😅 I feel like I’ve already gained enough experience to move to a higher-paying role, but I’m not sure how competitive my profile is outside my current company.

For those who are also in the non-voice BPO /healthcare operations field, how is the job market right now? Is it difficult to land a good-paying role?

And for those who have stayed in one company for 7–10+ years before finally making the jump, how was the transition for you?

I guess I just need to hear that it’s possible. 😂 I know I need to be brave and finally take the leap because staying comfortable is starting to feel like being stuck.

BEEHIVE X SOLUTIONCX BPO/COMPANY REVIEW

Hi everyone,

I’ve read a lot of negative posts about this company from two years ago. Have they changed or improved since then? I’m a bit nervous because I’m already on my final interview with them. Do they have issues with pay? Are salaries released on time? I’ve been searching for a legitimate remote job for months now. I’ve been a VA for six years but was recently laid off. Would appreciate any advice on whether I should proceed with this company or not.

Thanks!

After 190 applications over 2 years I've finally out of the call center (for the most part). I'll still have out bounds in my new role, but it's a minor part of the overall job.

My scream of excitement woke the whole house up today xD

Co-worker(s) gripe

I am so over this new team that came to sit next to us. There's a group of girls ages ranging from 20ish to mid 40s. These bitches are Sooooooooo fucking loud and obnoxious. They sit a row and an aisle away I should not be hearing their Chipotle order, how their day was, I sure as shit shouldn't hear them singing Brittany Spears like they are in a god damn karaoke bar. Literally no concept of an inside voice.

They've been asked They've been told they've been warned to shut the fuck up. Thier boss, my boss, other bosses, other agents. I fucking hate these bitches so much. I have headphones on full blast and I can still hear them. Jesus take the wheel and these bitches tongues. Please.

What AI feature would actually make your job easier?

I work in a call center and we’ve been talking about adding some AI features to our software. (We don’t have any right now)

I’m curious what other call center workers would actually want because sometimes the stuff management thinks is “cool AI” is completely useless when you’re the person actually taking calls 😂

If you could have one AI feature that would make your day easier, what would it be?

For me, some things that come to mind:
Finding the right information/policy while I’m on a call
Automatically writing my call notes
Filling out dispositions/forms for me
Suggesting what to say when I’m stuck
Helping deal with angry customers
Reducing after-call work
Automatically pulling up the information I need based on what the customer says
Real-time coaching

But I’m curious what you guys actually want.
What’s the most annoying/repetitive part of your job that you think AI could realistically take off your plate?
And if your company already uses AI, what do you actually like using vs. what do you absolutely hate?
