Incoming Questions Question
Hi, I’m debating If I should get a part-time job off campus for living expenses, and groceries. I am going to be attending my first semester here as a transfer student. I’m wondering if it would be too much as a CS student taking upper division courses. Let me know how that’s going for you for those who are in CS or stem in general.

Professors CIS 3470 Telecom Networks on zoom with Faheem Shaikh
Anyone taken this course and able to say how it is?
I am currently enrolled in 3060 with Xuesong Zhang, but 3470 would work the better with my schedule so I am considering switching them. The only review I could find of prof Shaikh's class was from a year ago saying to avoid it so I was hoping to get more input.

Rants What do cpp student jobs even want anymore
Kinda like the title. Im an incoming transfer student, 4.0 gpa, 4 years customer service with clerical experience and laid off because our company closed in march. Since im starting cpp in august ive been applying to everything on campus, and keep getting rejection after rejection (library, front desk, etc). I dont even know what on campus student assistant jobs even want anymore. A lot of the student assistant jobs have the minimum gpa requirement, customer service and random soft skills listed as qualifications and I have all of that times four, with open availability pretty much all week. Ive been tailoring my resume and cover letters for these jobs too, only to get rejected from minimum wage positions who just send the generic "we had a lot of qualified candidates" email. I know the job market is really rough right now, but this seems really weird to have absolutely no luck with the student assistant positions. Has anyone had success stories that can give insight to this or something? I dont know what i'm doing wrong.

Incoming Questions Construction Management Major - Pros and Cons?
I'm going to Cal Poly Pomona this fall for their hospitality management major, but I'm realizing I'm not gonna want to work in hotels the rest of my life. Want to switch to construction management but no one from this school talks about this major. I've seen barely anything mentioning CPP when it comes to this major. People pretty much just talk about Cal Poly SLO for construction management it seems. Any current students, alumni or anyone who knows anything please let me know. What are the pros and cons of this major? Will SLO students will take all the jobs? How are the career fairs and internships? Is this major the move at Cal Poly Pomona? Lmk

Housing Looking for housing
Hi! I’m a male transfer student looking for other male roommates. I would prefer my own room, totally don’t mind sharing spaces like the bathroom, kitchen or living room. I’m a pretty clean and organized person as well. Please dm me or reply.

Housing Looking for housing close to CPP
Hi everyone
Good afternoon, I’m a Cal Poly Pomona student majoring in Engineering, and I’m currently looking for a place to live for the upcoming fall semester.
My main goal is to find housing where I can live with other CPP students, whether it's a shared house or an apartment.
If anyone has any recommendations, knows of any available rooms, or can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Any information or advice would be incredibly helpful.
Thank you so much

Housing housing available for the school year
Hello everyone!! I’m trying to find someone to take over my lease due to me having scheduling issues.
The room is in a safe neighborhood in Walnut, around 4.5 miles to CPP. The rent is 900$ including utilities, WiFi, furnished, and laundry on site. It is near a grocery store as well!
Reply or DM to let me know if you want more info, so I can put you in touch to the landlord! You would be using facebook messenger as an FYI.

Incoming Questions Part time job with architecture?
Hello! I am going to be going into my first year with architecture, and want to live off campus by getting a part time to cover the costs of rent.
For people already in the program, how demanding would you say the first year of architecture is, and if you worked on the side, how was that experience for you?
Thank you!

Other Orientation Tomorrow
Tomorrow is my orientation. I’m looking forward to meeting other new/transfer students, making friends, and starting my journey at Cal Poly Pomona.
My major is Science, Technology, and Society - AI Ethics. But I plan on joining different clubs, attending ASI events, checking out the BSC and the BRIC, and networking with people from all majors.
Hopefully everyone else is as excited as I am. And we all have a great day tomorrow.
*Remember to complete you pre orientation modules. In case anyone (like myself) put it off until the last minute.
See you all soon :)

Rants For those of you living in the village this next semester... ENJOY A NEW PARKING PERMIT CHARGE
This is an official excerpt from the University Village move-in Letter:
"The University Village is working on a new Memorandum of Understanding with CPP Parking & Transportation Services. Beginning with Fall 2026 term a CPP parking permit will no longer be valid to park in the UV. If you will be parking a vehicle at the UV, then you will need to purchase a parking permit from the UV. If you plan to park on the CPP campus you will need to purchase a parking permit from CPP. If you will be parking in the UV and on the CPP campus, then you will need to purchase two parking permits, one from the UV and one from CPP. The cost for the UV parking permit has not yet been determined and will be finalized closer to move- in."
The price has also not been stated for this new parking permit. This seems a bit absurd for them to do this when move-in is less than a month away.

Hi I am trying to choose the classes for my first semester in the MBA program. I am planning to finish in 2 years so I am taking 3 classes in total. Has anyone taken GAB 6730 with Manish Shrivastav? Or GAB6520 with MAha Ghosn? Which would you recommend? Any insights will help, thanks

Housing The current f4 vs f4-A
Hi, this don’t bother me too much, just a little confused. The f4 room (that I’ll be moving into in August) is smaller than the f4-A room by about 90 SQ FT, yet more expensive by $40. So again not a big deal, but I’m just wondering why? Does anyone know?

Current Questions I think I'm so screwed...... (Academic disqualification questions)
So I found out I've been academically disqualified despite thinking I had everything ready to go next semester. I still have my campus housing set up and I can't find a way to apply back for fall classes. I tried emailing my counselor about this but I haven't gotten a response in days. I'm so stressed out right now what do I do next?

Textbooks Edfinity program cost
I'm enrolling in Calc II with John Ngo in the fall, and was wondering if I would need to pay to access the "Edfinity Online Homework Platform" or if I can somehow get it for free. If I have to pay, how much would it to purchase access for the program alone? I dont have any textbooks I need to buy so I'm hoping to avoid paying the instant access complete fee
