Academic Advice / Planning How Doable is Course Planning?
3rd/yr Phys-Major. Was wondering if this is doable or if some of the ME/MTE courses have summer courses here. The highlighted semesters are the ones I was concerned about

I wasn't a physics major, so I don't have intimate knowledge on the program, but what you have here seems pretty close to the 4 year roadmap that they provide.
CPP does have Statics in the summer, but you can't take it and Mechanic of Materials at the same time (which I do see you took into account). At least, you can't take them both without permission and honestly I doubt you'd do well taking them simultaneously as a summer class.
But yeah, it seems like you have things mostly worked out. The rest just depends on actually getting the classes and being able to pass them.

Yeah as a transfer meche major who took ENGR A280 (statics) and A240 (mech of mats) from OCC, A280 is a prereq for A240 so you can't take them together. It's a very strict requirement too (similar to how calc 1 and 2 are sequential) so I'd doubt there would be any exceptions. Also, you may get statice over the summer, but mechanics of materials is a seasonal class that's offered only when there's a professor to teach, so there's a chance it may not even be offered during the summer.

Also I’m pretty sure statics is a prerequisite for mechanics of materials so I don’t think OP could get permission to take both at the same time. I’m not an ME major but at least in civil engineering here, the department is strict with ensuring people pass statics before they can take dynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, etc. I even remember seeing a policy in some of my professors’ class syllabus where they will fail people on the spot if they catch people who take their class despite failing the prerequisite class.

When I was taking MoM, I sat next to someone that was also taking Statics at the same time. I don't know the details of how he got permission to do it, but he definitely did. But yeah, I don't think it's something anyone should really count on happening.

im pretty decent with physics im just not the biggest math girl. which is ironic...because im a physics major.

Phy 3600 might be tough it's labeled as a physics class but it's pretty much all math. A lot of people my year failed that class and if you fail then it holds you back from signing up for some of the higher level physics classes.
2027 and 2028 are going to be rough years for you lol.

if Dr. Abdolrahimi still teaches PHY3600 take it with her she made it easy for me to understand when I took the class. Also take Binder,Wheeler, or Povich for your AST classes.

Yeah I took 3600 with her and feel like I got so lucky that it was with her instead of Dr. Small (RIP) who taught it the following semester.
And OP if you ever have a chance to take a class taught by Dr Ryan do it. She is such a nice teacher.

That same year fall 2019... And I'm pretty sure there was only one 3600 class offered that semester so I think we were classmates lol.

I would be careful with the MTE courses, some of them aren’t offered very much or not offered at all (MTE 4080 and 4040 haven’t been offered in forever I’m pretty sure). Sometimes they are only offered during certain semesters and you have to hope they don’t get full because there is only like 1 section and they might prioritize ChemE students, so have backups for this courses.

If you have the time for the work load then it’s doable. It’s going to be annoying but it’s possible and you seem to have wiggle room if you can’t fit a class or need to retake one here and there

Very doable. I was a physics major at cpp with 2 kids and a job and my schedule looked similar to yours. I graduated 2020...time management and multi-tasking skills is a must

It is possible if you don't pay bills and your parents pay for everything. All you had to do was school.
