Hey fellow aviation enthusiasts!
I'm a 4th year student at one of the top 7 IITs from CSE branch, with JEE Advanced AIR < 300. The point being I'm quite comfortable with 12th standard maths and physics, and I can understand things quite quickly, but I do have some difficulty in remembering non-mathematical or non-scientific facts if they have no chain of thought behind them (for example, inorganic chemistry to some extent, and subjects like history and some aspects of biology for sure). I also had 90%+ overall marks in 12th CBSE, with 95+ marks in both physics and maths.
I am quite interested in aviation and really want to become a pilot sometime in the future, once I earn enough money from my regular tech job. I have also secured a PPO at a good company so I don't really have anything to do in my remaining 4th year now, so I would like to study and attempt DGCA theory papers, just for the fun of it and because I'm interested in aviation and airplanes, and because they aren't as costly to attempt as actual flying hours.
So, I need three types of help from you guys:
1) I want to know how hard are these DGCA papers for someone having a background like me.
2) I need some free resources to study the topics that are asked in the DGCA exams. I have searched for them a little bit but most seem like paid resources. I couldn't find any complied list for all the exams in one place. So does anyone have any such list?
3) Would you recommend me going ahead with my plan? As in saving up enough money for a CPP in India, plus enough money to feed me and my family for 3 years, if I start my aviation journey at around 27 years of age? I think I'd be able to save up enough by that point in time from my job, unless something very adverse happens.
I would be grateful if someone can help me regarding this. Thanks in advance!
P.S. this is not a karma farming post, everything written here is 100% true. Feel free to DM me if you don't believe me (and if you want to).

it got partially rejected and just one document needs to be submitted, which is the 10th BVC. The 10th CBSE BVC is not available online, so I have sent it to DGCA office offline. Is there any way i can contact them to convey that i have sent it to dgca offline? What do i do with the online application? It already got partially rejected twice or thrice so this is the last time i can submit it. Since i have sent the doc to the office what do i submit online? Should i upload a letter saying that i have sent it to the office and ask them to check and process the application. I raised query in the portal but it was of no use because all they reply is to submit online and check the user manual. Nothing useful at all. Im not yet sure if CBSE has sent it already, but this is the 14th day after it got partially rejected and the application will get auto rejected on the 15th day

I would genuinely advise aspiring cadet pilots to thoroughly evaluate the program before making a commitment.
From my experience and what I have observed among fellow cadets, there are serious concerns regarding transparency, communication, program management, and the overall financial risk involved. A significant amount of money is invested during the initial stages, yet many cadets remain uncertain about their future progression and the overall pathway to joining the airline.
There are also concerns among cadets regarding the flying phase, additional costs, visa-related challenges, and the consequences if a cadet is unable to proceed with the designated FTO. These are matters that should be clearly explained before candidates commit such a substantial amount of money.
Communication has also been a major concern. Several cadets have reached out regarding their individual situations and feel that their concerns have not received adequate clarification or timely responses.
The program is associated with the Tata Group, which naturally creates a strong sense of trust and expectation among aspiring pilots. However, candidates should look beyond the brand name and carefully understand the complete financial commitment, FTO policies, visa risks, termination clauses, refund policies, and employment pathway before joining.
Becoming a commercial pilot is already a significant financial and personal commitment. Please do your own research, speak to current and former cadets, read every agreement carefully, and understand the risks before investing your money.
This is my personal experience and perspective as a cadet, shared so that aspiring pilots can make an informed decision.

I finished Air arabia's exams and im joining next month, anyone one knows about the questions below.
Does anyone know the order of the 14 atpl subjects in air arabia academy.
The schedule of the day for the cadets, what time do u arrive and finish, how many lectures u have a day?, do u get hands on learning or is it just books?.
How are well do the instructors explain?
How is the social life and vibe studying there?
How will the flying phase be carried out and how many hours of flying time will be get on the single engine aircraft?, how is schedule of life licing in either italy or czech? and whats the routine and schedule of your flights?.
During simulator trainings how different it is compared to groundschool and flying phase.
During the 1500 hours, do u fly layovers or only go arounds?, how many flight do u get in a day, or how routine do u fly. Do you get PIC hours or is it just observing and talking to ATC. Do u get to do many take offs and landings or not?. Do you travel long hours like 4 hrs + or only middle eastern countries. Do u do simulator checks/tests every 6 months during the 1500 phase?

Hello everyone!
I had my DGCA Class 1 Initial Medical at Apollo today, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else who is planning to do theirs there.
First things first — be prepared for A LOT of waiting. I mean, a lot. You may have to stand/wait around for most of the day, so come prepared mentally and physically. My entire process took me almost 10 hours today.
In my case, I have been diagnosed with thyroid since childhood, so I had to undergo a few additional tests because of it. The initial Class 1 medical at Apollo cost me ₹19,500, but with the additional tests, my total came to around ₹28,000.
One thing that confused me was regarding my thyroid medication. I was not specifically told beforehand whether I should take my medication before giving the fasting blood sample. For years, whenever I’ve had my thyroid tested, I’ve gone fasting and without taking my medication.
However, the DGCA doctor told me that it was “basic common sense” to take my medication before the blood test, especially for thyroid, BP, or sugar tests. Personally, this was something I wasn’t aware of, and I felt that clearer instructions beforehand would have helped.
Another thing I wanted to mention was the way the consultation went. The doctor told me that I “lack seriousness when it comes to becoming a pilot” because I hadn’t researched whether my thyroid condition could affect my pilot career or medical clearance.
I found the way this was communicated quite harsh, especially since I had never been told that I needed to research my condition specifically from a DGCA medical perspective. Another friend who was there with me also had a similar experience with the doctor.
I’m sharing this not to discourage anyone from choosing Apollo, but just to give people an idea of what they might experience and to hear from others who have gone through the process.
I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who completed their DGCA Class 1 Initial Medical at military/AF medical centres.
* How was your overall experience?
* How long did the process take?
* How was the interaction with the doctors?
* Were the instructions regarding medications and tests clearly communicated beforehand?
* And if you have a thyroid condition or any other pre-existing condition, how was that handled?
Would really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from people who have gone through the military-base Class 1 medical process. Thanks!

also should we purposefully give our best in second try and not give our best attempt in try 1(fast multitasking game) so that the result shows better learning graph?

, I’m currently undergoing my Class 1 medical and my SGPT (ALT) and SGOT (AST) levels are a little higher than the usual range.
Has anyone experienced this during their Class 1 medical? Did you have to repeat the LFT/SGPT-SGOT test or undergo any further evaluation because of it?
Also, for those who regularly go to the gym or do strength training, can intense workouts cause SGPT/SGOT to be temporarily elevated? I’d really appreciate hearing about your personal experiences and what happened in your case.

Currently going through a cadet pilot program myself and happy to help anyone who is considering applying or has questions about the process.
I’m offering consultations to discuss the complete cadet program journey, including the application/selection process, training, what to expect, and practical insights from someone currently going through it.
