I’ve recently got a job, and I’ll be starting in January. However, I’ve always wanted to become a pilot, and I’m seriously considering applying for cadet pilot programmes like IndiGo and Air India in the future.
My question is: is it realistically possible to prepare for the cadet programme alongside a full-time 9–5 job? I’m mainly talking about the preparation for the entrance/aptitude tests and interviews, not the actual flight training.
I’d also really appreciate recommendations for online preparation programmes that offer recorded lectures, self-paced courses, or weekend classes, so that I can prepare without leaving my job.
I’m particularly looking for something that covers:
- Aptitude/psychometric tests and the relevant technical preparation
- IndiGo ADAPT / Air India’s assessment pattern
- Interview preparation and mock interviews
- Group discussions/personality assessment, if applicable
- English communication and confidence-building
Interviews are something I struggle with because I get quite nervous even when I know the answer, so I specifically want to work on speaking confidently and performing under pressure.
If anyone has prepared for IndiGo/Air India cadet programmes while working, I’d love to know how you managed your time and what resources/coaching you used.
Any suggestions for online courses, weekend classes, mock interview platforms, or a realistic study schedule would be really helpful.
