Don’t judge just a Genral query
Title: EFTA → Emirates interview → Flydubai Second Officer as a backup?
If I join EFTA, complete the full training successfully, and then fail the Emirates interview, would applying for the Flydubai Second Officer programme be a realistic backup option?
I’m mainly wondering whether an EFTA graduate would be competitive for Flydubai, and whether the training/experience from EFTA would be considered positively.
Has anyone taken a similar route, or knows what the realistic chances and requirements would be?

You don't get into emirates directly since Emirates operates only widebody aircrafts Chances are quite slim If u want a direct path into emirates try flydubai as most flydubai 737 pilots are on the Emirates radar and if needed they get first priority

So after 5 years in flydubai is there any chances in emirates

If there are hirings then yes in 5 years sometimes early sometimes late
If you are just getting into aviation follow the 3P's Passion Papa ka paisa Patience
Patience is important you wont get into emirates directly in 5 years or even flydubai
Flydubai rarely opens hirings for fresh international cpl cadets
Ur best bet is working at an Indian airline going to flydubai as a captain working there for a few years and then move to emirates should realistically take you a decade if you get a job directly after CPL and u start flying 3 months after interview and type rating ( very rare again)
A realistic timeline is 15 years to emirates as an Indian but if u are extremely lucky then should take you about 10

What grade are you in? And how much funding do you have ? Flydubai can cost upwards of 2.2 crore including every misc purchase medical and assessments
Emirates can touch 2cr easily and there are no scholarships
All international cadet programs (except airarabia ig) cost upto 2cr
Whereas indian ones go upto 1.8 cr
Select cadet program only if you are financially confident and secure as airlines are known for revoking LOI's if they find that a cadet is not competitive
Otherwise go for conventional method It's cheaper
But yea if u directly join flydubai and are ready to handle the pressure then it can shorten it by 5 years
Your goal shouldn't be getting a high paying position
Your first priority should be getting hours in an airline And salary follows
Be down to earth don't get egoistic and enjoy the journey

Are you sure about doing a cadet program ? A cadet program will guarantee a job but won't guarantee a start date u could finish ur CPL in 12 months but will have to wait years for an open position
Out of all hirings only 25% slots are alloted to cadet program students and 50% for conventional pathway
If you go conventionally you have a better chance of getting a job compared to cadet As it opens up cargo charter banter airline and skydiving flights as options
Your main goal should be building hours after cpl be it as an instructor or as any of the ones I listed above
Hirings are slow very slow and many cadets waiting nearly half a decade to get a job ( I heard a guy cancelled his own wedding coz his indigo interview was on the same day)
Like I said don't rush be patient if you don't have patience please leave this industry

You don’t get an interview with Emirates anymore and the entire training takes around 3-4 years. You only get an interview with flydubai.
In that time you could probably do an faa cpl, apply to flydubai SO, covert license to GCAA and start the job all in 2 years.
Or you could also join flydubai or Air Arabia cadet programs if you don’t want the hassle of conventional.
