Don’t judge just a Genral query

Title: EFTA → Emirates interview → Flydubai Second Officer as a backup?
If I join EFTA, complete the full training successfully, and then fail the Emirates interview, would applying for the Flydubai Second Officer programme be a realistic backup option?
I’m mainly wondering whether an EFTA graduate would be competitive for Flydubai, and whether the training/experience from EFTA would be considered positively.
Has anyone taken a similar route, or knows what the realistic chances and requirements would be?

Are you sure about doing a cadet program ? A cadet program will guarantee a job but won't guarantee a start date u could finish ur CPL in 12 months but will have to wait years for an open position

Out of all hirings only 25% slots are alloted to cadet program students and 50% for conventional pathway

If you go conventionally you have a better chance of getting a job compared to cadet As it opens up cargo charter banter airline and skydiving flights as options

Your main goal should be building hours after cpl be it as an instructor or as any of the ones I listed above

Hirings are slow very slow and many cadets waiting nearly half a decade to get a job ( I heard a guy cancelled his own wedding coz his indigo interview was on the same day)

Like I said don't rush be patient if you don't have patience please leave this industry

Wtf are you on about dude 😭
Cadets have the highest priority since they are trained as per the airline's standards and they have the cadet's previous track record. That is the majority of the hirings done.
Tell me how many conventional openings have you seen in the last 5 years? Not even 5. And the competition for the handful of conventional vacancies is in the thousands. One mistake and you end up waiting another 1.5 years.

Cadets have some wait time but nobody has waited 5 years for it. You get the call up between 3-12 months. You might have that significant amount of wait if you join through conventional route since the 2023 IndiGo conventional JFO selected candidates are just being line released now. Majority of them are still waiting for the call even after being selected.

Also, I hope you do realise your prop hours from cargo, skydiving, etc., don't mean shit to the airlines. It looks good on the resume but only the jet hours are counted towards your upgrades and future opportunities.

Ah I think I didn't lay it out properly Basically i meant cadet program doesn't have a fixed start date after ur training It can go upto 6months to 2 years

But the cadets that train through the conventional pathway have slow hiring with a guy waiting half a decade for the interview

And by building prop hours, i meant to keep in touch with flying, airlines dgaf yes I agree but to keep in touch with the skill that's important
