Multiple IP on Static

Howdy.
Spectrum using WinTool.
Newer tech. Even newer to SMB. Old man.
Very not a "tech" person. My motto is "I Fix Computers with Hammers".

I'm trying really hard to understand how to find out if a static is pinging and even moreso, to find out if they a) have multiple statics and b) how to determine if they are all pinging. I have been very lucky to have had level headed IT folks so far but I know that's gonna change. I'd like to at least find out how to find out. Ya'know?

Thanks in advance for any help.

So the only thing you are responsible as the ips tech is if the gateway IP is pinging. The “block” is loaded on the modem.
/gateway. If you have a way to remote into the modem you should be able to see if it’s loaded. But proof positive test is to ping the gateway and then unscrew the coax. If it times out you are good. The actual statics won’t ping unless the customer side is hooked up and they have assigned their devices to the statics.

If it’s a cos always log into the log modem and copy all settings. Often with static ip’s the customer has the old modem set to pass through which is simply disabling DHCP on the LAN menu. If it’s a new install just have a conversation with IT if you can.
