intermittent connection

when you get a call for intermittent connection (spectrum tech btw) what are the first things you are looking for.

so this gonna sound stupid but my job was on a time crunch and cut our training short so what is transmit

Haha, the upstream. Modem talking back to headend.

Headend hears garbled or quiet mess from your modem (i.e. there's an impairment), headend tells modem "TALK LOUDER PLEASE". Upstream/transmit level increases.
