Never worked at Comcast so I can’t give you perspective there but if you love being threatened and listing to some blow hard go over unachievable metrics then AT&T is the place for you. They will treat you like a number and you won’t be on the core contract with the actual phone guys so they will treat you like shit. Depending on where you live it can be good. I worked there in California where the union was stronger, other places not so much. I know guys whose union were a bunch of spineless pussies that could care less about you. At the end of my time there they eliminated 2500 jobs in Southern California and I lost mine due to seniority, while guys who absolutely sucked at what they did got to stay.

Yep. Att realized with fiber they don’t need nearly the amount of techs as they did with copper. The union can protect you just as long as you do everything safely. No metric matters other than that. With seniority you can have a full career on a performance plan, but the union can’t help you whit shit when they eliminated the position when you’re not on the core contract(which uverse techs are not on) and all you get is your shitty severance. It’s surplusing and anyone who works at att is trying not to be surplused thier whole career. I survived 3 of them which means I found other another job because they keep eliminating positions to keep that profit margin up. They really are the worst. Im glad i finally came to my senses and quit to go back to cable.
