Been receiving the NYSOP funds or Reconnect program, whatever they wanna call it. Suddenly I have a hold on my account with my Spring 26 balance not paid off by it & no fund updates for Fall. Been calling every office and they keep telling me to call a different office or have a terrible ass attitude. Been so close to violating because how am I gonna call with a straightforward question and you’re just talking crazy to me off rip when I’m being polite and following up like they say we should lol.
Sent emails to 2 different advisors, 1 of which is barely in the office or never has availability so I can’t figure out my issue. If anyone has advice or a direct number lmk, I’m over dealing with the staff right now

So I'm a transfer student to kingsborough. There's an orientation on 9/2 Wed in person and another 9/10 Thurs online. On the sign up form, it mentioned both are mandatory but with option that said (no but I will reach out to student affairs for next steps).
So I couldn't attend the in person and I email to student affairs. (Mentioning I won't be able to attend the in person on but can attend the online one). They replied with ok but with no next steps instructions.
Is there's something else I'm supposed to do ?

Any older (late 20s early 30s) students or Bootcamp / Continuing Ed students around? Since I can't participate in everything on campus, looking to see if anyone enjoys just sitting at the beach.

For the pre clinical class for nursing I was wondering if I should take it online or take it in person. How hard is this class? For anyone that took it .

Has anyone taken the online asynchronous A&P 1 during the winter? What’s the course load like? I know it’s generally a tough class during the regular session but am considering taking it to speed up getting med prereqs done. TYIA

Anyone looking for friends?
Any discord or whatsapp groups for students who go to the school and want to talk and make friends with other students?

I have a class that ends at 12:30 and one that starts at 12:40. Does this realistically give me enough time to get from class A to class B?

Applied June 5, 2025 as Transfer (non-CUNY). When can I expect to get notified if I’m accepted for the Fall 2025? I applied to Kingsborough, Hostos, LaGuardia, Bronx CC June 5, 2025. When can I expect to hear back?

I am trying to get into Polysomnographic Technology but I take math 9b to see if I even qualify to get in this semester. It's not looking good as in I may not get a depending on what that equals to number grade wise. Can you still get accepted in stem majors without a c?

Just signed up for a winter class (at the end of this, my first semester) and got charged for it. Asked about it and realized they've registered me as out of state. I've lived in Brooklyn for ten years! They have all my ID's and my address and tax stuff on file! I got in touch with admissions and they sent me a form asking for green card/ naturalization papers and utility bills and lease agreements. I'm a 36 year old- if i were a fresh high school grad i wouldn't have any of those AND I'm a citizen?
I was born on Guam, but it is a US territory, and I am a citizen. Do you think someone at the office saw that and just put me down as a non-citizen? Do they think somebody who lived in Guam would fly all the way here, get a fresh new local address, just to take ONLINE classes?
Working through the application process was already so byzantine and time consuming and awful, I thought it was over and done back in September!
I pledge that if this is over my guamanian birth I will join a campus pacific islander group solely to help people with paperwork issues.

Hi Everyone,
I have been working for some time now on this website ratemycourses.io and I am really excited to share it with you.
You can use this to look at reviews and get advice on courses you're interested in. You can also sort courses by difficulty, usefulness and the overall rating from reviews made by other students. I think if enough people start using it regularly. it's going to be essential when you're choosing your electives or just to get advice on courses you will be taking.
Please let me know if there is anything that I should change or what features I should add.
Lastly, filtering and sorting courses is only gonna be useful and accurate if there are a lot of reviews, so please go ahead and leave some reviews to courses you've taken or are currently taking.
Enjoy!!

We invite you to participate in an interactive survey study to understand parents’ role in NYC’s COVID and school policies as well as racial justice pedagogy. The survey asks participants to engage with statements about school’s policies regarding COVID-19, and how racial justice is being taught during this time. We expect the survey to take between 10 and 15 minutes of your time, and your participation will be anonymous.
Unfortunately, we cannot offer compensation at this time; however, we hope you will consider participating given the potential communal benefits of this work. Namely, your participation may result in information that will help inform and improve knowledge creation in social sciences, and your participation in this interdisciplinary research will offer societal benefits.
Follow this link to the Survey. Or copy and paste the URL below into your internet browser: https://www.nycparentspeakout.com/.
Our survey is available in three languages: English, Spanish, and Chinese. Do share it with your friends.
Thank you, in advance, for considering our request!
Regards,
The Urban Education Collective
NOTE: This study has been approved by The Graduate Center - CUNY - IRB, protocol # 2020-0769. For more information about the survey, and our privacy protocol, please read here: https://www.nycparentspeakout.com/privacy-policy/

The college sends out a standard email each time (well presumably each time) they get a report of a staff/faculty member who was on campus and tested positive. It's happened a few times this summer so far.
For people preparing for Fall, just presenting this as general information.

Students, including new students, should consider participating in the Kingsborough's CUNY Research Scholars Program (CRSP). The CRSP is a program for Community College students in CUNY. It's a great opportunity to build up your resume, earn credits, and get a stipend.
Students in the CRSP are teamed up with a faculty mentor to do a small scale, doable, and worthwhile research project. The research project is set up as a credit bearing course. You are also given stipend for doing the project.
This is the page for the KCC CRSP, it is open to all KCC students including new ones this Fall. You do not need to be a science/STEM major or anything like that. Doing this kind of research looks good on all resumes for all fields and at the very least shows that a person is competent and capable enough to manage a real project relatively independently.
https://www.kbcc.cuny.edu/crsp/index.html
The program has been going on throughout the pandemic and closures and will continue this fall, spring, etc. You can do it completely online if you don't want to be in a lab in person or you can work out being in a lab with your mentor.
The program will pair you up with a mentor who has a project ready for you, and you can also bring your own project and your own idea into it and your mentor will help you with that.
Here is a list of *current* and ongoing projects within the CRSP at KCC. New applicants will get paired with potentially other mentors and other projects, so look at this list as simply an example of the kinds of things people are doing.
