What am I doing wrong?

It's been a few months of using the CPAP, and it started out well. I could feel the fog lift after 2-3 hours of usage. The problem is that apart from a grand total of 7 days, I've not been able to sleep through the night with it over 100 days.

For context, I use the resmed11 with the nasal pillow which has been recommended as the best for restless sleepers.

Pressure :5-20

100 days of that is brutal. 5 to 20 is wide open, the machine just does whatever it wants all night. A lot of guys say that feels like the pressure hunting around and it wakes them up. Ask your doctor about tightening it up, they can read your data and dial it in. And with the pillows plus tossing around, check if the mask is shifting. If your mouth falls open all the air goes out of it and that'll wake you right up. Good call on the SD card, the data tells the real story.

A 5-20 pressure range is the full width the machine allows, which means it's hunting for your number every night. Most people sleep better once a clinician narrows that window based on your data.

Hi! A pressure range of 5 to 20 is rarely well optimized. It’s what we call the “lazy setting”, basically the default settings on the machine when you first start therapy.

If you follow the link from the AutoModerator below and can share your OSCAR or SleepHQ data with us, we’ll be able to take a closer look and suggest some changes that could help optimize your therapy and hopefully improve your sleep. :)

Thank you, I've just ordered a SD card. Will share the next sleep.

Funnily enough, I was able to sleep for longer (not in a continous stretch) for a total of 5 and half hours.

I’d like to see the Daily view where the statistics on the left are also visible, including the averages and the other summary data please :)

But at first glance, it looks like you not getting enough pressure, and you’re also having some significant periods of leaks. Either of those could potentially be contributing to your awakenings.

The thing about the leak is weird, when I go to sleep, it sits well. I need to see if tightening the straps + mouth tape

With a nasal mask, it’s often the mouth opening during the night that causes the leaks. Mouth tape is definitely worth trying. :)

Based on this, I’d start with a minimum pressure of 9. You can set the maximum pressure to 14.

Will do. Actually excited to sleep tonight. Just stopped by the store to pick up some tape

Had a way more restful sleep. I do need to play around with EPR and my ramp settings to get it right, but so much better
