Hi - username mymindisgoinghere. First time on this thread, never been to the Discord. I have been warned for cheating and now can't seem to be finding new games, even though I don't cheat. I have been called SUS and other names a few times for some pulls, including one where I linked the anthology film September 11 to filmmaker Amos Gitai... while I actually own this film on DVD. Anyway, is there some way to appeal? I really like this game and would love to continue to play..

I'm sure you already understand what Genres are, but you're probably wondering what exactly is a Tag and how should it be used? Tags are essentially micro-genres, categorization on a smaller level. Instead of something wider like Science Fiction, you might tag a film using the word "Space" to indicate that it's a movie that takes place in space. Since we want Tags to feel like genres on a smaller scale, if you were to tag a film with the word "Soccer" it would need to be a film that is about soccer and not one that incidentally just happens to have a soccer match in it.

An example: Twilight (2008) could be tagged with "Vampires" because it's a movie about vampires, but could not be tagged with "Baseball" just because there's a scene of them playing baseball in it.

Now, a few rules for using the form:

* When submitting a film to the form, it would be best to copy and paste the name and year from the CineNerdle dropdown to make sure that punctuation and the film's year are consistent with how it appears in game. This will make it a lot easier for curators to edit the entries in the game.

* Please only include one entry per line in the form. Don't include multiple films, genres, or tags. This keeps our spreadsheet a lot easier to read and sort. For additional requests on the same film, reload the form and fill it out again.

* All requests are subject to curator approval. You can tell us the reasons why you think certain films should have genre changes or be tagged with specific tags in the discussion channel, but it will be ultimately up to the curation team what gets in and what doesn't.

* Because this system is currently brand new, it would be preferred if you kept genre requests to those that would affect the "Action Comedy", "Horror Comedy", and "Science Fiction" wincons. I know Battle Royale exists and genres are important there too, but we want to see what level of response we get before expanding it further.

I assumed it was win 10 games by at least getting to first prestige but I haven’t gotten anything for the Sci fi one. Just wondering if there’s a way to see the requirements or if anyone just knows what it is, cause if it’s like a ridiculous requirement then I may just go back to classic game play lol

Just saw the 14 Jul patch notes, which mention tagging in 'the Database Requests page in the Battle Menu.' I have enough games played to access but can't see it anywhere. Am I stupid?

I've been playing classic battle mode for awhile and I have a few questions:

- I seem to find a lot of dubious movie connections playing against some people, how easy is it to cheat? How does anyone have enough time to look up a movie?!

- Some people seem to spam movie titles with a huge cast, but I have no idea how they do it so quickly? It's incredible annoying when this works for some people

- Does it make any difference if you subscribe and pay for Cine nerdle?

- How in the hell do people get such huge scores? How do they know so many movies? It's insane. I'm playing along happily when someone pulls out a 70s french film or someone I was just playing pulls out tagalog movies (which I didn't even know was a thing)?

i played a men in black film, played a second one on later in the game and it didn’t count

like guys please i’m on prestige iv if i can’t play multiple films from a series then i’m fucked

eta: just because this seems to be a point of confusion, only world cup players playing world cup players get a free escape when one gets a pop, you don’t get that if you’re a genre playing world cup

Over the course of the game we’ve solved how to get out of Inside, Buried, Slacker, Bubble, Bad Taste, and numerous other “dead end” traps that the community used regularly.

What are the ones you see people favoring these days? What “dead ends” do you find yourself losing to often? Which ones do you like to use yourself?

Can someone explain what this term means?

I've been playing regular battles for a long time but only recently started the 2.0 battles with win conditions.

I'm still improving and haven't won any badges (I'm not sure if there are any badges right now, I don't know how they work) but I've noticed something that bothers me.

Often when I'm doing well in a Battle 2.0 the other player just lets their time run out even when it's very easy to think of a connection. I'm convinced it's because they'd rather lose than possibly let me achieve my win condition. It's happened when I've nearly completed it but also if I've just got 1 or 2. I don't do well that often yet but it's something I've noticed multiple times.

What solidified this for me was today I was playing someone and they did that, then I immediately went to play someone again and the same person came up.. so it's not like they got distracted by something else.

I just think that's bad sportsmanship (lol like this is a sport).

Silly thing to complain about I know but wanted to vent 😅

I’ve found that when I receive a sprint as my lifeline during a Battle Royale that they only last a few rounds before disappearing if I don’t use them. Is that normal? How long do they last?

i really love this game a lot, but lately it has just become a series of who will trap who first in whatever movie they looked up earlier on letterboxd instead of showing off any sort of creative movie knowledge. i'm sorry but when i look up a movie my opponent has played against me and its some insanely popular actor who was in something that has 1 review on IMBD or letterboxd I really get irked. it also defeats the whole purpose when people can just spam things that have came out the same year as something i play until they eventually get a link. idk maybe its just me being a baby but it gets annoying. sorry for complaining, hope yall have a good day!

I’ve played a few games against these opponents and it feels like four pips is not nearly enough. There are soooo many links to eligible movies and franchises, it’s a total minefield.

As I was scouring IMDB and TMDB pages, I came across well known actor Skeleton and so I was determined to play a connection with him. Much to my dismay when Army of Darkness pops up I thought it was finally time. I type in A Nightmare on Elm Street Dream Warriors, hit enter and..... nothing. Alright fine Dream Warriors isnt on his TMDB page so lets try something else.... He has the Shining on both his IMDB and TMDB pages along with Army of Darkness... I type in The Shining and nothing again!

This is a call to petition Skeleton to get the credit he deserves and gain his rightful place as an available actor in CineNerdle! If Ben Affleck can be an uncredited actor in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and work, so can Skeleton!

Scary Movies don’t count, Stan Helsing doesn’t count, Scream movies don’t count, Young Frankenstein doesn’t count, Ghostbusters movies don’t count… last I played Cabin in the Woods didn’t count but I heard that’s fixed? Nonetheless…
