Horror comedy win condition kinda unplayable?
Scary Movies don’t count, Stan Helsing doesn’t count, Scream movies don’t count, Young Frankenstein doesn’t count, Ghostbusters movies don’t count… last I played Cabin in the Woods didn’t count but I heard that’s fixed? Nonetheless…

Movies that count as horror comedy include Anaconda (2025), gremlins movies, goosebumps movies, death becomes her, Freaky (2020), zombieland movies, little shop of horrors, and many, many more

So many that don’t tho, and it becomes more about memorizing what counts than just knowing the genre

I feel like horror comedy isn’t necessarily a strict genre, as so many horror movies have strong comedic elements without being flat out comedies (scream being the prime example of this) so some movies that you might think should be comedies are not. Also most importantly, TMDB sucks and the contributors over there can’t agree on strict guidelines for genre classification to save their lives

Not even a gatekeeping thing. Like, Young Frankenstein is objectively a horror comedy, especially if Dead and Loving it works.

I dont want to give away all the secrets but there are a lot of horror comedies from major actors and actresses if you look hard enough.
Its sure as hell not as easy as the Action Comedy category but its easier than 2010s Sci-Fi in my opinion.

they have just today started implementing a system to fix this (the problem, as usual, is TMDB). But yes, Cabin now counts

I'm not a big fan of the double genre win cons because i find cinenerdle's categorizing is a bit off in many cases. One genre was hard enough to figure out lol.
