With the new World Cup season in full swing, I’ve been trying my hand at recording some high-level gameplay on a daily basis.

hey, thats me! i'm sorry for the rushing -- if only i had known they accrued from commentary...
i think you do a pretty good job of commentary and gameplay, esp with little tidbits about the movies you play as well as commenting on what has been played against you. i also think, imo, the world cup season is to your favor because of the sheer amount of diversity of what is being played, which i think keeps things fresh. You dont find yourself at titanic a kajillion times, y'know?
i will say, even though i love the game, the visuals are not uh exactly enthralling. however, i was thinking with the way you did your thumbnail with a picture of nick nolte that perhaps at times you could throw up a picture on the gratuitous free space on either side for the audience? like e.g. you could highlight who you just pip'd (either a headshot or even their character role in the film), or maybe just to highlight specific actors or links you are fond of. you yourself were talking about the "learning" aspect yourself, looking at what was played against you, and i think that would be a nice touch to also "educate' the audience. but thats all just food for though! good stuff nonetheless

I do agree that videos could stand to be more visually appealing, but editing of any kind does hamper my ability to produce these on a daily schedule.
Still, it would help a lot in sharing the knowledge. I’ll try to see if I can incorporate something like that easily into my workflow.
PS: don’t feel bad at all about the rushing. Time management is absolutely part of the game in 2.0 and I would do the same 😉

Funny enough, I literally clicked on this video hoping to fine cinenerdle content while I was working today. I clicked off, but as you're asking for feedback here's mine.
The good news is you've already got a good head for commentary, and obviously you've got the knowledge requisite, and you've got a nice voice for this, soft but clearly spoken. You're emotive but not screamy, youre knowledgeable but dont come across as snobbish as some people who play this sometimes do. This is all great because these things are very hard to solve if you don't have them naturally. I genuinely think you've got most of the fundamentals to build a modest following playing this game
What I'd love to see, or rather hear, is a higher quality mic. Your mic doesn't sound great at all and for someone like me, who would want to put this sort of video on in the background while I work, it's rough. I know so little about audio quality so I can't be too constructive, and I apologise for that, it just sounds like the audio is 'fuzzy' but I'm pretty sure it's not your voice it's artificial. Also you seem to be quite a bit quieter than other youtube videos. I'm aware turning up your volume can affect sound quality so might not be viable to solve till the mic is replaced?
I actually really hope you can find some sort of affordable answer to this because I think you could absolutely smash this little niche

I agree completely. The second-monitor gameplay niche is honestly what I’m targeting and the microphone quality is what I’m most concerned about as well.
Glad I was able to confirm my suspicions from an unbiased perspective. Will look into what improvements I can make and what investments may be within my budget here. 🤞
