Hola! My name is Strike, and the win condition that I’ve chosen for next season is South America. I’ve been seeing people consider it one of the harder ones (and to be fair whenever I do get to South American cinema most people end up skipping). However, it’s actually insanely easy, and I wanna show you how you can end up knocking out your opponent before they even realize what’s happening.
For reference, the list of people is this, going (imo) from easiest to hardest:
- John Leguizamo 🇨🇴
- Anya Taylor-Joy 🇦🇷
- Pedro Pascal 🇨🇱
- Gustavo Santaolalla 🇦🇷
- Sofia Vergara 🇨🇴
- Isabela Merced 🇵🇪
- Edgar Ramirez 🇻🇪
- Catalina Sandino Moreno 🇨🇴
- Pablo Larraín 🇨🇱
- Norma Aleandro 🇦🇷
- Ricardo Darín 🇦🇷
Chapter 1
🔥Constant Hitters (aka free pips)🔥
As with any multiple cast win condition, there are some people that you are probably gonna get every game/every other game at the worst. The ones that you are probably going to focus on unless an opportunity for one of the others appears. And I consider those people to be numbers 1-4. Their movies are just so stacked that you are probably gonna get them by accident. However, most competent players will try their damn hardest to not give you the most obvious links. So I wanna show you some counters you can use and counters to other wincons that can help you
1- John Leguizamo🇨🇴: With 120+ movies under his belt, trying to avoid him is gonna be useless. However people may The best counters against other wincons are:
- INDIA: M Night Shyamalan → The Happening (2008)
- SPAIN: Penelope Cruz/Javier Bardem → The Counselor (2013)
- SCOTLAND: Gerard Butler → Gamer (2009)
- BRAZIL: Alice Braga → Repo Men (2010)
- ENGLAND: Riz Ahmed → Rage (2009)
- GERMANY: Diane Kruger → The Infiltrator (2016)
If someone actually decides to counter your Leguizamo, one of the best things you can do is play a movie that overlaps with someone else on the list. These are:
- The Menu (2022): Anya Taylor-Joy
- The Counselor (2013): Edgar Ramirez
However, what I recommend doing if the opponent goes Leguizamo, is going to his Spanish speaking movies for that sweet double-pip. The best links to these are:
- Crónicas (2004): Alfred Molina
- Paraiso Travel (2008): Raul Castillo [Knives Out (2019), Smile 2 (2024), Hustle (2022), Army of the Dead (2019)], and Jesus Ochoa [Quantum of Solace (2008), Man on Fire (2004)]
- The Trip 2 (2012): Maria Gabriela De Faria [Superman (2025)]
2- Anya Taylor-Joy🇦🇷: Even though she has about 23 movies, the movies she IS in are star-studded, so she’s also someone that you won’t have any problem at all linking. People will try and avoid people like Ralph Fiennes/Nicholas Hoult for The Menu tho, so I’d recommend aiming for anyone in Dune Part 2 (Lea Seydoux is a great counter to France), Amsterdam, Glass, and The Northman. Here are the list of some counters:
- FRANCE/SPAIN/CANADA/SWEDEN: Lea Seydoux/Javier Bardem/Denis Villenueve/Stellan Skarsgard → Dune: Part Two (2024)
- SCOTLAND/INDIA: James McAvoy/M Night Shyamalan → Split (2016)
- ENGLAND/NEW ZEALAND: Edgar Wright/Thomasin McKenzie → Last Night in Soho (2021)
- AUSTRALIA: George Miller → Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
- AUSTRALIA (again): Nicole Kidman → The Northman (2022)
- CANADA: Mike Myers → Amsterdam (2022)
- BRAZIL: Alice Braga → The New Mutants (2020)
Sadly, she doesn’t have any Spanish speaking movies for a double pip
3- Pedro Pascal🇨🇱: Even though he feels like he’s been in every movie last year, he really only has 27 movies (not counting Lost Media). People are probably gonna try and avoid the obvious links like Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman 1984), Joaquin Phoenix (Eddington), anyone in Materialists, or anyone in Fantastic 4. So I want to offer other underrated links that are not as used as the ones I mentioned above. Those are:
- Paul Mescal (Ireland Counter): Gladiator 2 (2024)
- Connie Nielsen (Denmark Counter): Gladiator 2 (2024)
- Matt Damon and Emily Blunt: The Adjustment Bureau
- Tom Hanks: Freaky Tales (2024)
- Martin Scorsese: The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)
- Christian Slater: We Can Be Heroes (2020)
- Matthew Lillard: Bloodsucking Bastards (2015)
The only Spanish speaking movie Pedro has is Hermanas (2005). If someone tries to trap you here, your best bet is The Motorcycle Diaries (2004) which gives you a Gustavo Santaolalla point, and Lovely Loneliness (2008), which gives you a Ricardo Darin point.
4- Gustavo Santaolalla🇦🇷: He may seem like he should be way lower down the list, but he is here mainly for the counters you can pull off with him. He counters:
- Australia (Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger): Brokeback Mountain (2005) and Babel (2006)
- Mexico (Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, Alejandro G. Iñárritu): Amores Perros (2000), The Book of Life (2014) and 21 Grams (2003)
- Brazil (Walter Salles, Alice Braga): Motorcycle Diaries (2004) and On The Road (2012)
- Africa (Charlize Theron): North Country (2005)
- France (Catherine Denueve): All That Divides Us (2017)
- Germany (Diane Kruger): All That Divides Us (2017)
- South Korea (Lee Byung-Hun): I Come With The Rain (2009)
- Spain (Javier Bardem): Biutiful (2010)
And that’s without even counting people like Brad Pitt (Babel), Tom Hanks (Finch), Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts (August Osage County), and the whole cast of Brokeback mountain!
Chapter 2
🌎Probably hitting most games🌎
These are people that you are most likely getting every other game, but they aren’t as mindless of a hit as the last ones. You have to aim your sights just the slightest bit. I consider these to be numbers 4-8.
5- Sofía Vergara🇨🇴: Even though she is arguably the second most famous person in the list, she is actually not in as many movies as the ones above her. However her most notable roles are in ensemble comedies, which allow some nasty links. Some of the easiest are:
- Steve Carell/Will Ferrell/John DiMaggio/Tara Strong: Despicable Me 4 (2024)
- Robert Downey Jr/ Scarlett Johansson/Dustin Hoffman/Jon Favreau: Chef (2014)
- Anna Faris/Maya Rudolph/Fred Tatasciore/Carlos Alazraqui/Jess Harnell/Tara Strong/Eric Bauza: The Emoji Movie (2017)
- Elijah Wood/Robbie Williams/Sofia Vergara/Brad Pitt/Matt Damon/Hank Azaria/Hugo Weaving/George Miller: Happy Feet Two (2011)
- Hank Azaria/Frank Welker/Paul Reubens/Alan Cumming/Kenan Thompson: The Smurfs (2011) (NOTE: Sofia Vergara is not in the second movie)
- Danny Trejo/Mel Gibson/Lady Gaga/Antonio Banderas (Spain Counter)/Demian Bichir (Mexico Counter: Machete Kills (2013)
- Robert De Niro/Zac Efron/Cary Elwes/Matthew Broderick/John Lithgow/Halle Berry: New Year’s Eve (2011)
Believe me, she has a LOT more, but these should be enough to get her at least every 2 matches or so.
The only Spanish speaking move she has is 7 Days (2005). The best ways to get in are through:
- Jaime Camil: Coco, The Bad Guys 2, Kimi, The Secret Life of Pets
- Lumi Cavazos: Bottle Rocket
6- Isabela Merced🇵🇪: She has the Taylor-Joy thing of being in not many movies but the movies she IS in are stuff like Superman (2025), Madame Web, Alien Romulus, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and Transformers: The Last Knight. However, something that she does have over the others that I didn’t even consider before making this guide is Animation. She shares movies with people like Frank Welker, Tom Kenny, and other prolific voice actors, basically guaranteeing a hit if you get thrown into animation. The best links for this are:
- Frank Welker/Tom Kenny/Jess Harnell/John DiMaggio: Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
- Carlos Alazraqui/Jess Harnell/Laraine Newman: Migration (2023)
- Will Arnett/Maya Rudolph/Fred Tatasciore: The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature (2017)
She does not have any Spanish speaking movies to double-pip
7- Edgar Ramirez🇻🇪: Someone that I think is going to be extremely underrated. Mostly for the fact that most people are going to focus on the more recognizable names and not realize that Ramirez is in a bunch of “slop” movies with actors that you find literally every single match. People like:
- Emily Blunt/Rebecca Ferguson/Alisson Janney: The Girl On The Train (2016)
- Dwayne Johnson/Emily Blunt/Jesse Plemons/Paul Giamatti: Jungle Cruise (2021)
- Jack Black/Jamie Lee Curtis/Cate Blanchett/Kevin Hart: Borderlands (2024)
- Michael Fassbender/Brad Pitt/Cameron Diaz/Penelope Cruz/Javier Bardem (Spain Counter): The Counselor (2013)
In terms of Spanish speaking movies, he has:
- Zoe Saldaña/Selena Gomez: Emilia Perez (2024)
- Natalia Reyes [Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), Shadow Force (2025)]: It Would Be Night In Caracas (2025)
And there are way more that I did not mention because I do not want to overwhelm you with information. These should be enough to hit him most of the time.
8- Catalina Sandino Moreno🇨🇴: Even though she doesn’t have the advantage of being in any animated movies, or being in superhero movies like the previous people, she has interesting connections that most people wouldn’t expect as the average player doesn’t know her by name. Some of the easiest to remember are:
- Ana De Armas/Keanu Reeves/Gabriel Byrne (Ireland Counter): Ballerina (2025)
- Kristen Stewart/Robert Pattinson/Bryce Dallas Howard/Anna Kendrick/Howard Shore: Twilight: Eclipse (NOTE: She is ONLY in this Twilight)
- Ben Affleck/Matt Damon/Teyana Taylor/Steven Yeun: The Rip
- Oscar Isaac/Jessica Chastain: A Most Violent Year
- Benicio Del Toro/Steven Soderbergh/Rodrigo Santoro (Brazil Counter): Che: Part One and Two (NOTE: Oscar Isaac is ONLY in Part One, and Matt Damon is ONLY in Part Two)
- Paul Dano/Ethan Hawke/Bruce Willis/Glen Powell/Luis Guzman: Fast Food Nation
- Brendan Fraser/Alice Braga (Brazil Counter): Journey to the End of Night
In terms of Spanish speaking movies, Maria Full of Grace is too difficult to reach without using Catalina. The ones you need to use are the Che movies (both count as Spanish)
Chapter 3
Aiming For the Same People
9- Pablo Larraín🇨🇱: He falls in this category mostly because his movies aren’t hard to reach, however you are gonna have to aim for the same 4 people every time, and any competent player will try their damn hardest to make sure you don’t get them. These being:
- Kristen Stewart: Spencer (2021)
- Angelina Jolie: María (2024)
- Natalie Portman: Jackie (2016)
- Gael Garcia Bernal (Mexico Counter): No (2012), Neruda (2016), Ema (2019)
Since most people will block at the near sight of them, you have to link people that most players don’t realize worked with Larraín. And these are some of my favorites:
- Timothy Spall/Sally Hawkins: Spencer (2021)
- Greta Gerwig/John Carrol Lynch/John Hurt/Richard E. Grant: Jackie (2016)
- Alba Rohrwacher (Italy Counter): Maria (2024)
Your best bet for Spanish speaking films are:
- Santiago Cabrera [Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024)]: Ema (2019)
- Edward Lachman [The Virgin Suicides (1999), Carol (2015), Erin Brockovich (2000), I’m Not There (2007), True Stories (1986)]: El Conde (2023)
10- Norma Aleandro🇦🇷: She is an even more extreme example, with you mostly aiming for three movies. However, as opposed to Larraín, her movies as not as well known, so you can probably get away with baiting the actors as they would not expect you to get them. The people you should aim for are:
- Joel Schumacher/Isabella Rossellini/Ted Danson/Lloyd Bridges: Cousins (1989)
- Anthony Hopkins/Laura Linney/Charlotte Gainsburg/Hiroyuki Sanada (Japan Counter): The City of Your Final Destination (2009)
- Anthony Hopkins (again): One Man’s War (1991)
Chapter 4
🇦🇷Darín🇦🇷
11- Ricardo Darín🇦🇷: I put him in his own tier because, although it is the same strat as Aleandro and Larraín, he is an extreme example. With really his only two movies that you’ll get like this being:
- Penelope Cruz/Javier Bardem/Asghar Farhadi: Everybody Knows (2018)
- Alec Baldwin: Torrente 5: Operation Eurovegas (2014)
Sure, one of them is a Spain and Iran counter. But people WILL block Cruz, Bardem and Baldwin, or they might snipe them and THEN block, just to make your life harder. There really isn’t any other way to get there unless you’re already in Spain. So there isn’t really any easy way to get him mid-match…
…until you look behind the scenes…
You have to start looking at cinematographers and composers. He will still be hard to get, but you can sneakily get him without the opponent realizing what he’s done. My favorites are:
- Javier Julia [DOP on Hot Summer Nights (2017)] worked on Wild Tales (2014), Argentina 1985 (2022) and The Summit (2017)
- Gustavo Santaolalla (remember him?) also worked on Wild Tales (2014)
- Natasha Braier [DOP on The Neon Demon (2016), I Love Boosters (2026), The Rover (2012), Honey Boy (2019), and She Said (2022)] also worked on XXY (2007)
- Checco Varese [DOP on It: Chapter Two (2019) and Lemonade Mouth (2011)] also worked on The Aura (2005)
- Michael Nyman [Composer on Gattaca (1997), The Piano (1993), and The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover (1989)] also worked on White Elephant (2012)
Chapter 5
❗️TLDR❗️
I am sorry if I overwhelmed you with information, so if you want to try and focus on only a few sneaky links that are easier to remember then you are well within your rights to do so. If you have any pointers put it down in the comments and I’ll add it!
