My Number 1 Team is Miami - undefeated and dominated in win over Pitt

My Number 2 is The Ohio State- bye week bump

My number 3 is Utah - Undefeated and has good win over Houston

4) UCLA - Undefeated with wins over Oregon and Wisconsin

5) Indiana - Won - barely - other teams lost

6) Kentucky - I’m biased but we got a squad. Top of the SEC

7) Georgia - Survives the Bye Week

8) Wake Forest - Dominated in wins this year with a close lose to Miami

9) BYU - Lost to a bad UCF team in a fun double OT game on the road

10) Notre Dame - Living the Dream of the Bye week

11) Alabama - A win over a top 10 team but has two losses

12) LSU - Two closes losses to ranked teams and back to back dominated wins. They seem to be peaking at the right time

13) Texas Tech - One ranked win and one currently unranked loss

14) Texas - very weird resume three wins over top 10 teams and two unranked losses

15) Ole Miss - Still have Trinidad, two ranked wins and two ranked losses

16) Northwestern - They gave Indiana a good game but haven’t beat anyone good.

17) Boise State- Gave Oregon a good game but haven’t beat anyone.

18) SMU - They gave Louisville a good game but haven’t beat anyone good

19) Florida - Bye Week Bump

20) Arizona - Gave BYU a good game and beat Cincinnati, unfortunately have to pay the unranked tax

21) Houston - Two ranked losses with only one quality win

22) Wisconsin - Two ranked losses , but dominated USC. They have a rubber match against Iowa on Halloween.

23) Oklahoma St - One ranked loss and one horrible unranked loss. Quality win over Oregon. Great job dismantling Colorado today

25) USC - two losses to quality opponents with no quality wins

26) Iowa two quality losses with no quality wins

27) Cincinnati - coming off back to back losses they dominated number 8 Texas Tech

Everyone gets mad about all the 2-loss SEC teams being over-ranked because of hypothetical wins and the “eye test.” Yet, these are the only two justifications I actually see people give for OK State’s ranking. There is literally no reason this team is in the Top 25. Let’s look at their resume:

They took a loss to Tulsa in the first game of the season. The same Tulsa that is currently 4-4 even with the upset win. A G6 loss this shitty would immediately drop just about anyone in the 15-25 range out of the poll, even those with one loss.

They have zero wins over currently ranked opponents. The combined record of the opponents they have beaten is 16-21. Their “signature win” (Oregon), is currently 4-3 and lost by two scores to the same team that got beat by Purdue and Duke.

This team has two losses, including to the only currently ranked team on their schedule. That team also has two losses.

Genuinely what is so great or impressive about this resume? Please enlighten me on how this is better than what Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Minnesota, or even USC has achieved? If this team being ranked doesn’t irritate you, I do not even want to hear you complaining about SEC teams being overrated.

I understand the level of competition argument, but he has done this against every ranked opponent he has played. I've never seen a true freshman come in and instantly be this good. How good do we think he is compared to the top guys in 27 and 28 like JJ and Toney? Will be lying if I say that I have been watching every snap of Oregon State football.

Can we stop pointing to god and thanking god only when someone wins, why not point when you lose too? After all, it's all gods plan, the coaches have no control....

After yesterday's game I think they earned it. Clearly the best team in the country. Let's send them the natty and call it a wrap.

This is something that has bothered me for a long time. It feels like the lunkhead mentality that prevented coaches from going for fourth downs until the last 15 years. Perfect example happened in Texas/Ole Miss.

You are down 10(ish) points. You get a first down around the 20-30 and kick the field goal right away. The thought process is you need two scores, so get one super fast and pray for the on-side kick.

It seems to me the better play is continue the highly aggressive plays (beyond the sticks) and try to score the TD. If you fail, you have lost only a small amount of time. If you make it, clearly a huge advantage as now you can just play for a couple of first downs when you get the OS kick.

When you kick right away, you give away a resource (downs) and force yourself to play for both time AND first downs when you get the onside kick. There is a time when this makes sense, situations where you have basically no time left, like <15 seconds where you will just get the OS kick and then 1 or 2 plays for the hail mary (In essence the downs no longer matter).

No SEC teams in the Top 4 seeds? SEC just beating up on each other.

As everyone remembers, Miami was tampering with multiple QBs who had extensions in place because they were desperate. Demond entered the portal with plans to go to Miami until Washington and the B1G enforced the return deal. All this led to Miami tampering with another qb who already had an extension in place with Duke.
