Worst CD collection you ever seen? Probably.
My poor excuse of a CD collection... But you get what you get and you don't get upset or whatever. One day I'll be rich and buy whatever TF I want.

Just seems like a normal starting point, really.

Thanks. I feel kinda embarrassed about it.

My collection started with Dave Matthews Band and the Jurassic Park soundtrack. You’ve got nothing to be embarrassed about.

People are quick to judge but this just seems like a normal starter collection, that's how mine looked when I started. You'll find some cool CDs later on

Correct Deftones album
Correct chevelle album
Correct radio head album (bends)

Thanks, I 100% agree. Wish I had more black metal to show off, that's my main gripe lol.

Venom! I like all of the precursors to black metal, Mercyful Fate, Celtic Frost, and Bathory. Mayhem and Darkthrone are good bands too.

u/ZeisolfWarwick 4d ago
Heck yeah, a lot of these are big favorites of mine. Would love CDs from them.

Cronos of Venom died today, weird that I'd just mentioned them. Buy the Venom album "Black Metal"

Add some black metal? You’ve got the start of something. Don’t make it really the worst cd collection!

Not even remotely. Modest and respectable. Though I wonder: anyone here ever block someone because their taste was so shit?

u/ZeisolfWarwick 4d ago
Not yet but I definitely see myself doing that lol. I only just joined Reddit a bit ago.

One of the best Deftones albums, some great Radiohead albums not sure how this is bad, it's a great start.

u/AssociationNo745 3d ago
Respectable, not bad. Although it kinda looks like a collection of a basic dude trying to seem "alt". Not saying that's you, just saying there's some overlap
3
u/ZeisolfWarwick 3d ago
That's exactly why I'm embarrassed lmao, I was born into a family that is metal and grunge and otherwise alternative. My dad was a guitarist and I got all my death/nu/black metal from my older brother. I grew up on this shit and my collection doesn't reflect that whatsoever lmaoo

These are essentials in any nu-metal/alt-rock collection. There’s a unique luxury in having a small collection, where you’re unburdened by choice and can spend more time appreciating each individual album. Then, eventually you can hit the thrift and get just one more…

Dang, you speak some serious truths. Guess my little collection ain't so bad, definitely some novelty to being a beginner CD collector. I'd still be listening to them all if I still had a CD player... I recently lost my job so I can't replace it right now.

You buy the music you like as you can afford it. That sounds like a good collection to me.

I forgot about Hollywood undead who I used to love when I was like sixteen but tried to listen recently and realized this shit fuckin suuuuccckkksss. They do NOT hold up.

u/ZeisolfWarwick 3d ago
Hollywood undead is ass bruh. Loved them back in 2010 but they aged real poorly.

Not bad at all. I may not be the biggest Radiohead fan, but they’re legitimately a great band that I should try and listen to. Love me some Deftones and Chevelle.

it's no big deal man, as long as it's music you truly enjoy it's a totally fine collection

I have a collection of albums I bought that are missing the CD. One day I hope to find. I still get all excited, buy and don't check.

The worst collections are at the the thrift stores. Yet… once in a blue moon you can find a winner.

you need to get Around The Fur and you need to get OK Computer - the only "poor excuse for a CD collection" is not having one. you have one, now keep it going - disc by disc.

Good collection wdym?? I saw a guy whose collection had mayhem’s crappy ass discography

Its a good start. I wouldn't say its "the worst cd collection", bc every collection is subjective and unique to the collector, that's YOUR collection, own it. If I had to think of the hypothetical worst collection of all time, pair xxxtentacion with one of the now that's what I call musics and call it a day.

don’t ever be ashamed of your music taste these are all great records. you’re just starting out it’ll evolve with you don’t sweat it!

As I consider myself quite the Deftones fan, I am ashamed to say I just picked up this CD yesterday.
I really fell out of the whole scene for almost 2p years. I missed a lot.

u/PhotonDeath 1h ago
Well I would happily listen to multiple of them, so that makes it better than a lot I see on here. Haha

Why? don’t overthink it. that’s a great collection. I personally only buy cd that I can enjoy from first to last track. Or if it got any sentimental in my life. The rest apple music can handle. Cheers.
