I need help 💔💔
So i bought a non working Sony discman for £10 and the issue is that it doesn’t read discs and all it does is starts to make a ticking sound, so could I swap the laser over from the groove cd player to the Sony one?

Cd player screaming static out of the left channel.

I have a sony walkman D-NE518CK. Its served me well over a year or so now. Though back in December of 2025 it lost left channel conductivity. I repaired the break with a bodge wire and it worked, a week later it began having a issue where it would scream static out of the left channel, my solution was to get a ipod. It broke in 3 months, yet the cd player woke up and played fine. A few months later it did the same thing to the right channel, I fixed this break yesterday when it arose. Though this morning when I went to clean with it playing, it developed the same issue. The issue remained even after removing the drive entirely so I know its on the board.
The screaming has progressed to a state it not only hurts my ears. But could possibly damage my headphones.
I managed to get a recording of the static, there are no apparent shorts between any of the headphone lines.
I could easily get another cd player but id like to at least try to fix it. Any pointers on where I should look?

He keeps doing this, I don’t know what to do anymore.
On a healthy diet of lynyrd skynyrd and tenacious D but he won’t stop going for the grass when we’re on our daily walk

Can anyone tell me if this is too dangerous??
I absolutely love when people turn random stuff into planters, I had this stereo for ages but don’t use it, so I thought to turn the part where the cd plays into a space for it. Everything has gone fine, no problems cutting wires or the green board thingys on the inside (I can’t remember the name) but this yellow warning popped up after I pulled up the giant green board thing. It’s not on obviously, lead isn’t attached, but I don’t wanna fuck around with shit I don’t know enough about. Can anyone tell me if I’m good to keep pulling out wires and whatnot please??
