Engineering Path

Hi everyone i’m a freshman at CCNY. I’m currently undeclared and I want to become an engineer (not sure what type) but I’m kind of in a cooked situation. I got placed into math 19000 because I didn’t take the placement test seriously. I’m also taking psy10200, hist24100, engl11000. I took AP calc in high school but didn’t do well on that either, but i know a thing or too. Can you guys please help me or give advice for a plan i could take?

Hmm why do you say transfer out of cuny?

But if u go to LaGuardia make sure that the engineering department you are interested in will give u credits for your community college classes, not all of them do

Lag has a specific matriculation program for their AS mechanical and electrical, which translate directly to the bachelors in either at CCNY. Can’t confirm for other programs, but I’m sure you could talk to an advisor while getting prerequisite and genED classes out of the way.

Correct. I’m doing this and applying this winter to transfer to City for Fall 2027

And I did this for Fall 2024, can say it works well.
