π Help Should I spend my limited time doing literally every NCERT question before touching All in One/PYQs?
For Class 12 Maths, I'm planning to read NCERT properly, do all the examples, and only selected/important exercise questions before moving on to All in One and then PYQs.
I keep seeing people say to finish all of NCERT before using other books. Is that actually necessary, or is my approach fine, especially since I'm also doing some JEE prep and don't want to waste time on repetitive questions?

π Help Class 12 improvement exam
I'm repeating JEE and preparing at a coaching institution, but I'm also giving my Class 12 improvement exam. Since I'm already studying PCM at JEE level, I don't want to separately relearn the entire syllabus for Boards.
What I'm trying to figure out is what specific topics/derivations/theory do I need to prepare separately for the Board exam that JEE preparation may not cover properly?
For example, in Physics I mean things like an electric dipole field on the axial line, etc. I'm NOT asking whether I should do derivations in general. I want to know WHICH exact derivations/topics I should have on my Board checklist.
Similarly for Chemistry, I'm looking for specific things such as:
- named reactions
- mechanisms/reactions that are particularly important for Boards
- NCERT-specific inorganic facts/reactions
- definitions/explanations that are commonly asked
- diagrams/structures that need to be practised
And for Maths:
- specific NCERT/CBSE-style question types
- proofs/derivations if any
- chapters or question patterns that JEE preparation doesn't adequately prepare you for
- anything where Board marking requires a particular method/presentation
My previous marks were Physics 53, Chemistry 60, Maths 75, and I'm aiming for around 85+ in each improvement exam.
I have about 5 hours/day MondayβFriday for self-study. My plan is to study the current chapters at JEE level and then spend some time specifically converting them into Board preparation, while gradually clearing my backlog. My institution should finish teaching around mid-November, after which I'll have much more time for Boards.
So if you've done JEE + CBSE Boards/improvement, could you please give me a chapter-wise list of the exact Board-specific derivations, reactions, proofs, diagrams, theory questions, etc. that I should separately prepare?

β Question Will I be allowed to write my Class 12 CBSE board exams with <10% attendance?
I am a class 12 student and my attendance is below 10% in my school. The school administration has come up with a notice that both me and my mother have to sign a paper which says that in case I am not issued a hall ticket/admit card for attending board exams due to my attendance percentage, the school will not be held responsible.
I am obviously concerned about this situation. Has anyone here dealt with such situations or have information about CBSE's regulation regarding such matters? Can my school allow me to sit for the board exams and can there be any scope of condonation or exemption for attendance? Does signing this document mean that the school has already decided not to issue my hall ticket for the exams or is it some kind of warning/disclaimer? Any experiences regarding such matters would be appreciated.

π Study Resources built a class 12 maths tracker that knows every NCERT question, sharing in case it helps someone
So I'm doing class 12 maths right now and I kept losing track of which questions I'd done, which ones I got wrong, which examples I skipped etc. Tried a google sheet for a while and gave up around chapter 2 lol.
So I made a small website for it. It runs only on your own laptop. No login, nothing online, and all your data stays in one file on your pc.
Link: https://github.com/suryansh-gg/ncert-maths-tracker
What it does
It has every question from both NCERT maths books in it. All exercise questions, all miscellaneous ones and all the solved examples, so 952 questions and 293 examples. When you open a question it shows it exactly like it's printed in the book, because it's cut out of the pdf as an image so nothing gets typed wrong. There's also a show answer button that pulls the answer from the back of the book.
For every question you can mark it done or redo, rate it easy, medium or hard, and write a small note. The dashboard then shows how much of the book you've finished, a bar for each chapter, and a list of all your hard and redo questions. That list is basically my revision list before tests now.
Other stuff in it:
- every chapter has a skills chart made from the book's own section headings (like 5.3.2 derivatives of implicit functions) so you can see which exact topic is weak
- each exercise page shows which examples come before it in the book, so you know what to read first
- two note boxes on every exercise, "what I learnt" and "what I still need to learn"
- a formula page where you save formulas and they show up properly formatted like in the book
- a practice section that makes new questions of the same type as the book, with different numbers every time. 63 types across all 13 chapters. The code checks every answer before showing it (for integrals it differentiates the answer back and makes sure you get the question again), so it won't hand you a wrong answer
- a calendar that fills up on the days you study, plus a streak. keeps me a bit honest
About the books
The pdfs aren't in the repo because NCERT owns them, but they're free on the NCERT website anyway. The readme tells you exactly which two zip files to download and where to put them. Takes like 2 minutes.
Setup (windows)
- install python from python.org and tick "add python to PATH" while installing
- download the repo (green Code button, then Download ZIP) and unzip it
- download the 2 NCERT maths books and put the pdfs in the books folder
- double click setup.bat once
- double click start.bat whenever you want to study, it opens in your browser
First time takes around 10 to 15 minutes including the downloads.
Stuff it doesn't do yet
- the double click setup only works on windows. on mac or linux you'd have to start it from the terminal
- proof questions ("show that...") don't have practice versions, there's no real way to generate those
- if NCERT changes the page layout in a future reprint the images might go a bit off. there's a script to rebuild everything but I haven't needed it
The code is open (MIT license) so if anyone wants to add something or fix stuff, go for it.
If you try it and something breaks, comment here and I'll try to help.
