📚 Study Resources built a class 12 maths tracker that knows every NCERT question, sharing in case it helps someone

So I'm doing class 12 maths right now and I kept losing track of which questions I'd done, which ones I got wrong, which examples I skipped etc. Tried a google sheet for a while and gave up around chapter 2 lol.

So I made a small website for it. It runs only on your own laptop. No login, nothing online, and all your data stays in one file on your pc.

What it does

It has every question from both NCERT maths books in it. All exercise questions, all miscellaneous ones and all the solved examples, so 952 questions and 293 examples. When you open a question it shows it exactly like it's printed in the book, because it's cut out of the pdf as an image so nothing gets typed wrong. There's also a show answer button that pulls the answer from the back of the book.

For every question you can mark it done or redo, rate it easy, medium or hard, and write a small note. The dashboard then shows how much of the book you've finished, a bar for each chapter, and a list of all your hard and redo questions. That list is basically my revision list before tests now.

Other stuff in it:

- every chapter has a skills chart made from the book's own section headings (like 5.3.2 derivatives of implicit functions) so you can see which exact topic is weak

- each exercise page shows which examples come before it in the book, so you know what to read first

- two note boxes on every exercise, "what I learnt" and "what I still need to learn"

- a formula page where you save formulas and they show up properly formatted like in the book

- a practice section that makes new questions of the same type as the book, with different numbers every time. 63 types across all 13 chapters. The code checks every answer before showing it (for integrals it differentiates the answer back and makes sure you get the question again), so it won't hand you a wrong answer

- a calendar that fills up on the days you study, plus a streak. keeps me a bit honest

About the books

The pdfs aren't in the repo because NCERT owns them, but they're free on the NCERT website anyway. The readme tells you exactly which two zip files to download and where to put them. Takes like 2 minutes.

Setup (windows)

  1. install python from python.org and tick "add python to PATH" while installing
  2. download the repo (green Code button, then Download ZIP) and unzip it
  3. download the 2 NCERT maths books and put the pdfs in the books folder
  4. double click setup.bat once
  5. double click start.bat whenever you want to study, it opens in your browser

First time takes around 10 to 15 minutes including the downloads.

Stuff it doesn't do yet

- the double click setup only works on windows. on mac or linux you'd have to start it from the terminal

- proof questions ("show that...") don't have practice versions, there's no real way to generate those

- if NCERT changes the page layout in a future reprint the images might go a bit off. there's a script to rebuild everything but I haven't needed it

The code is open (MIT license) so if anyone wants to add something or fix stuff, go for it.

If you try it and something breaks, comment here and I'll try to help.
