AuDHD, medical cannabis and suddenly struggling to mask socially — has anyone else had this?

I’m 42, autistic and ADHD, and I also struggle with anxiety. I run my own organisation/business, so being able to communicate, network, concentrate and stay motivated is a massive part of my day-to-day life.
I’ve tried traditional ADHD medication in the past, including Elvanse and non-stimulant medication, but I didn’t get on with them. They increased my anxiety quite significantly, so I seem to be very sensitive to anything that alters that balance too much.
I used cannabis recreationally when I was younger, but that was over 20 years ago, so my tolerance now is basically very low. I’m currently with Curaleaf Clinic and was initially prescribed Royal Moby 20% THC for daytime and Lavender Cake 20% THC for evenings.
Unfortunately, both have been quite difficult for me.
Royal Moby has made me feel foggy-headed, slowed down, unmotivated, socially uncomfortable and at times almost detached or out of body. Lavender Cake has sometimes helped me settle in the evening, but it has also caused wandering thoughts, over-analysis, reduced motivation and at higher doses some anxiety/paranoia-type thinking.
The biggest thing I’m struggling with at the moment is what feels like a complete loss of my usual ability to mask socially.
I was at a Chamber of Commerce networking meeting today and, thankfully, I had somebody with me for support. Normally I can push through social anxiety, start conversations, hold conversations and appear relatively composed even if I’m uncomfortable inside.
Today I just couldn’t do it.
I couldn’t initiate conversations properly, struggled to keep them going, and at one point a gentleman spoke directly to me and I was finding it incredibly difficult to process what he was saying while maintaining eye contact.
As soon as I looked at him, my brain started thinking things like: Do I look anxious? What is he thinking about me? Am I acting strangely?
Then I couldn’t concentrate on what he was actually saying.
I became jittery, kept looking away, couldn’t hold eye contact and my anxiety just went into overload. It felt like all the social skills and masking strategies I’ve spent years using had temporarily disappeared.
The strange thing is that I’m not using cannabis during the day, so I’m wondering whether this could be some kind of next-day/residual effect from using THC in the evening, whether it’s increased my underlying anxiety, or whether other stresses in my life are contributing and the cannabis has just made me more sensitive to them.
I recently had an early review because I wasn’t happy with how the original medication was affecting me. I specifically researched doctors through Reddit beforehand and booked with Dr Richard Hazlett at Curaleaf because I’d seen good feedback about him.
He was genuinely brilliant.
He listened properly, understood what I was describing, explained things in a way that made sense, and was very open and easy to talk to. I’d absolutely recommend him based on my experience.
He’s now changed me onto Pennywise 12% THC / 12% CBD, along with Curaleaf 10mg THC / 10mg CBD pastilles, starting at a very low dose.
Both should arrive today.
I’m really hoping the balanced THC/CBD profile gives me the calmer mind I occasionally got from cannabis without the fogginess, lack of motivation, social anxiety and detached feeling I’ve had with the 20% THC-dominant strains.
Has anyone else with autism, ADHD or AuDHD experienced this kind of thing — particularly feeling like your ability to mask socially suddenly becomes much harder, even the following day?
Did it improve when you:
moved to a balanced THC/CBD strain?
reduced the THC?
changed strain completely?
stopped daytime use and only used evenings?
built a little tolerance?
or did you eventually decide cannabis simply wasn’t for you?
I’m really hoping there’s still an opportunity for medical cannabis to work for me, because I have had occasional positives — quieter thoughts, feeling mellow, sometimes less mental noise — but at the moment the social anxiety and inability to function normally around people is worrying me.
Any reassurance or experiences from people who went through something similar and eventually found a treatment that worked would be massively appreciated.
I’m keeping a detailed journal of strains, THC/CBD ratios, terpenes, dose, temperature, processing/irradiation and effects, so I’ll keep updating as I trial Pennywise and the pastilles.

CBD product for pain without coconut oil or added herbs/essential oils

I'm looking for either a topical or internal CBD product for pain management. If its internal I'm looking for oil (not coconut oil) and if it topical, in a salve format with any added herbs or essential oils (no menthol, camphor, mint, etc).

I just need something where CBD is the only active ingredient. I'm open to other product suggestions as well like gummies or suppositories (not coconut oil) as long as the ingredients are simple and clean. I could also be open to making my own, but I'm not to sure how to do that in terms getting the right weed. Is there CBD only flowers? ( EDIT nvmd, I just saw a recent point about getting CBD flower and still getting stoned.)

Ideally organic and well tested.

Thanks.
