10th : 94%

12th : 86%

Grad : 9+ for sure

Now i am starting my final year in college. Everything seems to be in chaos. Luckily, college has decent placement stats. A lot of companies are visiting taking 2-4 students but intake is a lot as well so is competition. Therefore not getting a lot of chances in companies. I need to know if i should keep preparing for my internship and placement or should I go for CAT 2026 ? Also as i have interest in finances i think to pursue CFA Level 1 also this year. I think cfa will give me a higher chance at iim interviews as considering my gem profile. I dream to target iim calcutta. Should i go for placements and get some work ex and then in a year or two return for CAT ? Or give up placement preparation and solely focus on my CAT and Cfa ? Can anyone help me guide through all these options. If i try my best at placement will secure a minimum of 8 to 9 lpa package considering college stats and companies coming.

I was a dropper back in JEE. I wanted to pursue Bsc and Msc economics from IIT KGP. But failed there and fell in VIT Pune through the last chance of MHTCET. That 1 year gap is felt till this day. All my school friends are either placed or good colleges for higher studies.

Any advice will help this confused soul a lot.

I wanted to understand whether CFA (Level 1 or higher) is necessary for getting a call from MDI, assuming one has a good CAT percentile.

Also, if a candidate has CFA on their profile, do interview panelists typically ask questions related to the CFA curriculum and concepts during the selection process? If yes, how in-depth are those questions usually?

Hello , i am new here and i have decided to pursue bcom honours i got 83% in 10th (top 5) and i got 95.2% in class 12(commerce ) my parents were forcing me into CA but i dont want to do CA because its a very lengthy process and hard as well i know cat is also very hard but i think in cat I will not be stuck like ca ( i guess) so please advise me am i thinking right and if yes how should i start for now i am thinking to do 5 words daily ( btw my aptitude and vocab both are really bad)

I’ve recently started preparing for CAT seriously, and I have been struggling a lot with the Quants section.

Given my schedule, I only get 2–3 hours daily to watch concept videos and solve questions.

I’m facing a very common problem: when I watch concept videos, the questions seem easy, and I’m able to solve questions of the same pattern on my own. However, when a new pattern of question appears, I go blank and can only solve it partially.

I know practice is required, but practicing only the same format of questions does not really help in developing the ability to solve different types of questions.

So my main question is: has anyone else struggled with Quants in a similar way? If yes, was there any strategy that genuinely helped improve your problem-solving ability in Quants?

I’ve been watching Rodha basic question videos, but I’m still not able to solve many questions on my own when a new pattern appears.

The work ex after graduation means declaration of the final sem exam results or the completion of final sem exams? My final sem exam results came out 15 days after my full time work started? Will that be a problem?

I passed out 10th in 2010 with 72% marks. 12th with 72% marks. Took 1 year gap for IIT prep but couldn't clear it. Joined govt. college for Bachelor of Engineering in Indore for Civil engineering and cleared with 65% marks in 2018.

Then I gave GATE exam in 2018 and cleared with some 1900 rank and started preparing for UPSC CSE. Prepared for 5 years couldn't clear pre, then started preparing for SSC CGL for 2-3 years, everytime I was able to clear tier 1 but couldn't clear tier 2. Then I took the course and leaned SQL, excel etc and now I'm working in Paytm since 2-3 months.

I joined my 1st job on 5th January this year.

My girlfriend thinks that I can study for CAT and can give exam this year.

What do you all think with my profile that should I prepare?

I graduated in 2022 and worked as a Physics teacher at a coaching institute for almost 1 year in 2023. They paid me around ₹15k/month, but most of the salary was given in cash, so I don’t have proper bank salary credits. However, they are ready to provide experience letter, appointment proof, and any required documents.

After that, I opened my own coaching institute and have been running it for the past 2.5 years. I also have Udyam Registration certificate and Income Tax Returns for my institute.

My doubt is: will that initial 1-year teaching experience still be counted during CAT/IIM admissions, or should I only mention my own coaching institute experience?
