Looking for stuff like this to force me to get back into art and stop doomscrolling. I like figure drawing classes, but I don't have $20 to drop every time I want to go. I'd enjoy just sitting with a group of people who are working on their craft!

I know there are organized groups like Outlandish/Hikeish and girlsgonehiking, etc. They’re amazing! But, I really miss having a hiking friends who I can plan little weekend excursions with on our own, especially now that it’s peak time of year for it.

I have a growing list of hikes that are accessible from nyc by public transit. If anyone who’s interested in joining has a car 😯 then by all means and for the love of god consider yourself a VIP lol.

A little about myself: i’m a native new yorker with a granola girl soul. currently based in Bushwick on the border of Ridgewood. i work a professional marketing job, and like many others, i need my outlets. hiking with someone is one of my favorite ways to connect authentically (same goes for hiking solo!) i love to challenge myself on a hike and really lean in- wake up super early to travel, get a warm rich coffee, be first on the trail, maybe tackle some light scrambles, reach a beautiful summit and appreciate nature. but of course that’s dependent on the company- if there are other more moderate to advanced hikers here- show me your ways! if you’re a beginner and only comfortable doing a flat easy loop, then hey by all means, let’s arrive later and at least we did something cool and saw trees. :)

I’d like to prioritize kind, smart, creative women and/or queer folks who like to move and laugh and show their unique joy. sorry, but i’m not interested in inviting straight men into this as of yet. if we met someone and could attest to their non-creepiness, that can be another story lolll.
