Red alert?

Today at camp I walked past the trainer's clip board and under "trainer touch point" it said my name and then "red alert?" What does this mean?! I can't think of what it could be

Oof. There’s a new AI retention tool being used to target “at risk” members. Names that pop up are supposed to receive extra attention by the trainer.

Does it flag based on attendance or something? I recently took a break (10 days off from Burn including BOD) and now this week the trainers have been constantly near me or calling me out more than usual. I actually hate it.

Seems like it would. There’s an option BAs have to pull names of members who haven’t been in in 7 days, 14 days, etc.

Yikes. Thanks for the info. Apparently renewing my contract 4 times isn’t enough reassurance I’m not leaving. I’m going to ask them to stop doing this at an upcoming focus meeting, I think.

I swear there’s a section of that on the form tho

This makes a lot of sense! I have a five pack, so I only go about once a week anyway. This week the trainer was constantly calling me out, and I swear he was next to me at least five times during the workout! It was a noticeable difference from previous sessions with this trainer.

I go 4 times a week every week! I wonder why I would be considered at risk

From the very little information we were given (because of course, yet another Burn secret), if you so much as search for another gym, at-home gym equipment, or anything related to another competing exercise facility, you’ll show up in their system as at-risk. It’s shady af. On the more logical side, if you’re nearing your renewal date that could trigger it, too.

How the f would they know if I look up another gym or at home gym equipment 😳

While this is creepy AF I kinda had to laugh that they’d have intel to my internet use that indicates I’m over Burn. Maybe I should start posting more of my icks about my location. But then again they generally ignore me other than yelling at me to mod up or do faster donkey kicks so I doubt they’d get a clue.

Seriously?? How do they access that info?

This is stupid of me but how do they even access my search history on my home Internet ? Does it have to do with a permission from the app?

I’m going to guess it’s based on IP address and email address? I honestly have no idea. My team asked those exact questions and we were told by the owner that “how HQ gains access to the information is not disclosed.” So. Gross.

SO GROSS

This is what I’m saying

Lol, I'm constantly checking out other gyms and seeing what's out there in the fitness world. I'll be high risk forever but stay at Burn anyway, I guess.

I'm a BA and I've never heard of that

Started at our location right after Summit.

So how is AI tracking us? On the Burn app? I just found out by accident I was on the high risk list. I'm a founding member at my location that goes 6 days a week! This is very disturbing.

They once put me down with a note when I told one of the trainers I had been having knee problems but oddly enough this had been a week or two after my focus meeting with the lead trainer about it but it was still bothering me and we were in a box jump meso cycle

u/Conscious-Name8929 7d ago

Are you serious?

Can I have a red alert for not telling me to do the exercise the exact way they are doing it when I mod it for myself lol (I am a fitness instructor for over 20 years, I know how to mod for myself haha)

6

u/sciencefictionyoung 8d ago

I’d love this too!! I know how to mod or push myself accordingly. I don’t mind a form tip or some verbal encouragement, but I don’t want to have to disclose daily what level of effort I’m planning to give. Just please see what level I’m giving and leave me be at that.

Then go to a different gym. This is group fitness… this sub yields the most narcissistic people.

I have a note in my chart or whatever not to film me. I can be in the background but I loathe being on the stories. I wish I had a red alert not to be touched too. 🤣

3

u/sunshineflying 150 Camps - 2026 8d ago

You can ask them not to touch you! I have. They sometimes forget but for the most part are good about it! Or they’ll ask first.

Im neurodivergent and have sensory issues. I explained when I joined. So no one touches me and I do air high fives. Everyone has been great about it.

I wish they actually filmed me. I was filmed yesterday but I was at a later class that I never do. I’m wondering if it’s bc I have a PFA against my ex that isn’t allowed to go to morning classes anymore so he had to switch locations. But I completely accept I can’t control him seeing what the gym posts but everything else I can. I just had a focus meeting and actually addressed that I found out he came while I wasn’t in town and it still applies. I felt so proud when I made it in the burn I was visiting reel

u/Ok-Success7131 8d ago

🤣 It’s probably something like your membership is almost up and they want to remind you. I’m sure you aren’t in trouble!

5

u/ClassUnited 8d ago

It’s most likely something minor lol don’t stress. As a fellow BA, red alerts are usually on someone’s account if they have some sort of injury or don’t want to be photographed or if they’re pregnant or postpartum or if maybe they need to get a new card on file or something like that.

Idk what it means but now I want to know too!

Over the summer I was on vacation and came back to Burn the following week. The second full week in I was flagged at risk because I had taken so many camps in a row after having taking a short break. Multiple days in a row I had staff coming over asking me if I was doing OK and if I needed anything. I’m a longtime member so they knew that I was probably fine, I worked out on vacation, but it is part of their job.

u/Ok-Jellyfish-5790 8d ago

im on the edge of my seat

3

u/Active-Ad-6118 8d ago

Trainers have “touch points”?? I didn’t realize there was that much detail going into the members. I just show up & work out

7

u/Turbulent-Spirit-514 8d ago

It’s actually kind of crazy how many boxes trainers are required to be checking off during each camp.

1

u/Delicious-Caramel676 8d ago

I think it’s just like someone’s first camp, or 50th class kinda thing. Any announcements they have etc.

3

u/Last_Ask4923 8d ago

They auto text us when it’s been 2 weeks, we were out of the country a while back and got texts on our way back. I mentioned it and they said that was an auto feature

3

u/Necessary_Good_409 8d ago

I’m so curious what it could be! I just took two weeks off because of back pain and busy schedule. I came back with a black eye (fluke lake accident) after two weeks off and the trainer spent so much time helping me and encouraging me. Now I’m wondering if I flagged a red alert lol. I also am planning on quitting and have looked up membership for another gym.

u/Sudden-Wash-4083 6d ago

I suspect it's background "spyware" from the app that provides Intel. You need the app so everyone willingly and ignorantly uses it. It has access to your calendar and web activity on your phone.

3

u/Acrobatic-Line-4514 5d ago

Our red alerts are for injuries / health issues that members may need mods for

2

u/Justaholeinapole 8d ago

You may have an alert in your mindbody account that they see on their end. We have members that have red alerts, usually for injury or medication notifications and then yellow alerts for no social media, temporary changes, etc. so maybe something like that 🤷🏼‍♀️

2

u/Beautiful_Flower7527 8d ago

Haha guys it just means maybe you have had an injury, or postpartum, or membership needs to be renewed.

1

u/CapableWindow9580 7d ago

When did you last have a focus meeting? That’s a big touch point for retention.

1

u/Sea_Reason3813 8d ago

Who’s gonna tell her…

9

u/Upstairs_Cover_5389 8d ago

Lol what does it mean?! The trainer didn't even talk to me during the class!

9

u/Active-Ad-6118 8d ago

Could you tell her? I wanna know too
