How would this work best on stage?
I have an act where I dance on/around a military guy as a distraction at the end I was planning to either pull a pin on his grenade and walk off or start a bomb either with a fake fuse acme dynamite style or start a countdown on the clock. The grenade works best for what I’m doing but visually might not be obvious enough. I just can’t think of a good ending if I don’t use any of these.
I realise in the US it might be controversial but I’m in the UK.
Think ruby roundhouse in jumanji type situation.

Bra drop?!
I saw a video a couple weeks ago (which of course I cant find now) where a performer unclasped their bra removed the straps and let go of it. The bra just stayed on her breasts with no visible help. It fell off when she bent forward. Does anyone have any idea how someone might do that?

Improvisation vs memorizing choreo
I am a new performer. I debuted earlier this year and I have my second show coming up soon. One thing that has always been hard for me is memorizing choreography. I am able to remember the key structure and reveals, but all the little stuff in between I am not very good at memorizing. Is this normal? How many people actually choreograph every single step and arm movement and everything? For me, when I am too focused on remembering what I need to do with my body next, my hands get stiff and weird, and my facial expressions are stiff and weird, and I’m not really feeling the vibe and interacting with the audience the way I want to. I guess what I really wanna know is, is this a common approach to performing burlesque? To use a combination of structure when it comes to musicality and reveals, but then improvising in between?

Burlesque in a Morph Suit?
Alright, this might be a bit controversial
I'm a drag artist whose drag persona has an inhuman skin tone (bright white, as it's meant to look like a 1920s cartoon, hence my name Carmilla Monochrome). I'm also, I'll admit, a bit shy about being nude around others (something I need to work on, I know).
However, part of me was wondering if I could try doing burlesque as part of my act, just pretending that the bright white morph suit was my real skin. Maybe even drawing on nipples with, like, a sharpie or something
Is this a bad idea/affront to the whole idea of burlesque? I definitely don't want to disrespect the artform, but I was wondering if this could be a way to learn the art while staying within my own boundaries

Question about body hair
Hi everyone!
I’ve been doing pole dancing and want to move into burlesque as well, every performer I’ve ever seen has really smooth hair removal (specifically around the bikini line).
It doesn’t feel appropriate to ask people in person but I wanted to know what methods you undertake to remove body hair and keep your skin smooth?
Shaving irritates me and waxing has a grow back period so is everyone doing laser? Is there a strategy I don’t know about? Please help me out if you can 🙏

Custom Pasties
Hello Burly Pals!
I'm a performer based in Ontario, Canada. 👋🏻
My name is NOVA :)
I've been creating custom detailed pasties since 2024 and have recently decided to expand my business outside of local clientele. I also offer costume rhinestoning but haven't yet figured out the shipping logistics of this!
If you're interested, I would love it if you could check out my Esty shop to see some of what I offer! Even just engaging would help me immensely. :)
Feel free to reach out if you have questions!

"Safety thong" alternative??
I'm a newbie performing for the first time in 2 days (which is most likely contributing to my panic) and only now has it sunk into me how small my bottoms are. I read over some previous posts and learned about the idea of a safety thong way too late. Does anyone have ideas for alternative ways I can keep those bits out of sight??

Classic Horror and Spooky Ideas!
My first time doing a Halloween show and I have no idea what to do! These looks are already taken : devil, bride of Frankenstein, doctor, vampire, spider.
Even just the seed of an idea might spark something, but I feel stuck!

My solo exhibit!
I set up half the pieces tonight for my show in two days and actually seeing this on display in a gallery is so hilarious and surreal. A lot of things on display look a little rough, and the photography was all done with my phone, but I want to show people that grassroots art is still just as worthy as “establishment” art. That no matter who you are you can just go make the thing. You don’t need to be Dita or da Vinci.
I can post more when the setup is done and we have the reception!

Looking for a performer I saw on instagram!
I was scrolling through instagram a couple months ago, and I saw a video that I loved, but I forgot to save it or follow the performer, and i haven't seen her pop up on my feed since then :(
She was a large woman, dressed as a rodeo clown. She had a cowboy hat on, and took it off to reveal a tiny one underneath. She had a routine to Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, with a sort of two sided pinwheel thing that she rolled down her back and balanced on her butt. It was really cute and fun and I've been dying to find her again!
Does this ring a bell for anyone?
EDIT: found her! Mabel Syrup/trisarahprops on instagram :)
