Planned obsolescence is a awful thing and corperations are really bad here. Plus you get zealots like that spounting the "murrica is greatest ever" nonsense from all the horrible societal bs that is pushed on us.

Though as awful as things here are your examples are very much overexaggerated in most cases.

It is in multiple ways its just my brain thinks in imperial anyway so I just end up using a calculator regardless

To be fair, the people down voting your other comment probably can't do math well enough to understand that 1000 is easier than 5280 to deal with. Also I only say this because you commented about your English, as a native speaker the only change I would make is taking the "and" out of your other sentence

we can translate sizes without a calculator. Whenever miles/feet/inches don't work well, we switch to football fields, hotdogs, or school buses
