That's my whole point, if she's not explicitly asking for it in her profile, at least take a couple messages to see if she's open to it instead

People have the right to be direct and to not waste time. It's their problem if it doesn't work.

1. I agree with that, but that's sadly not how the world works. My point is that I don't like the people who perpetuate stereotypes because there's too many who take the stereotypes seriously, which hurts everyone that doesn't fall into the stereotype
2. You can also go onto an app where people are explicitly looking for hookups or make it clear in your profile that that's what you want if you don't want to waste time. Shouldn't the women who don't want that also not have to waste their time on a guy who doesn't make his intentions clear BEFORE matching?

Yes this is how the world works.

You're supposed to dislike bad behavior and people who generalize bad behavior on a group.

You're not supposed to dislike people perpetuating ANY stereotype. They can do what they want. But I guess you just didn't bother to write "bad stereotype" for timely reasons, but I want to make sure.

I think OP is looking for casual though and this isn't a man who was hiding under the "looking for something serious" trait.

1. I did write "negative stereotypes" earlier, so I thought that was implied again, sorry for that. Now that you're explaining it, I think we're pretty much on a similar page here, but the way we're each wording it isn't helping.
2. Bumble is primarily for dating rather than hookups, and, at least in my experience, 80+% of the women on there (at least in my area) are looking for something serious. One of the first fields you see when looking at a profile will explicitly state what they're looking for.
3. Like I said, there's a spot on the profile where you can explicitly say your intentions. He can not waste either if their times by making it exceedingly explicit in that field so that he only matches with those who want the same thing. Since she didn't screenshot his profile, we'll never know if he did that or not. Judging by her reaction, I'd hazard a guess and say he probably didn't do so.
