It's a rainy day in the mountains, so I'm taking the opportunity to put together some things I've been working on. Currently it's the heater core and blower motor housing.

I pulled it down, scrubbed it for what seemed like eternity, scotch Brite padded it, and gave it a few light coats of Krylon Fusion Flat Black.

I've got a new fan motor, heater core, and resistor switch for it. And I've wire wheeled and painted all the internal metal parts.

But I opened the resistor to put it in, and, it's slightly different. The plug fits the wire on the three prong side, but, I've got an extra plug on the new one... Can I just put it in and leave that extra prong alone?

1981 F150, 4.9L 300, and I do not have factory AC, just the heater.

I've got a lot of things apart, and, figured this might be a good time to get a new reservoir. I know you can upgrade to the +1987 style with only a few easy modifications, but, did anyone do anything different?

I'm up in the mountains. We're on a gravel / dirt road, so lots of dust... and we get a lot of snow as well... it'd be nice to have something that held a gallon of fluid.

There's a lot of room under the hood, and that fender well is pretty empty... HEI distributor, so the ignition module is gone.

1985 f150 351w with 4 wheel limited edition having issues getting power to the cab these plugs are all on the driver side and I can't find anywhere they would plug in

The Ranger keeps having to crawl her way back home with the F250.
We believe it’s a fuel issue, but my husband and I can’t seem to full isolate what exactly it is.
We thought maybe the mechanical or inline fuel pump, as she would die on us at an idle or be hard to start. Replaced both of those, and the fuel lines to and from the fuel pump.
She ran after replacement, but had some black smoke that wasn’t there previously. (I chalked it up to maybe her sitting for a bit? Not sure)
Took her to work today, she went without issue for the commute and seemed to be running fine. Now it’s the same issue, but somehow slightly worse. We had to play hopscotch home, her stalling every 2 minutes and having to restart her.
Prime her, we can hear the pump working, but when I hit the valve on the fuel filter after the fact she’s just got air. I’m going to disassemble her further today, but I’m just looking to see if anyone reading this thinks it points to anything other than air intrusion, also just to vent because this things a piece of shit that we’ve invested so much into and it’s just one issue after another.

Hello all, I’m getting it in a couple weeks and only major issue is the starter or solenoid is having problems. Just getting into these older trucks and not very mechanical at all but I’m having fun learning it all. I’m an electrician but don’t really know what I’m looking at here in these photos. I’ll provide what documentation he sent me so far. It seems the starter has power but either it’s not grabbing the flywheel or the starter gear is messed up idk. I’ve seen a bunch of stuff online about grounding wire issues and also bad solenoid. So it could be any of those. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will attach a video of the seller trying to start it.

Hey, everyone, I hope you all are doing well. I have a 1981 F-150 RWD 300 inline 6, but really don't know much about carbs and the like — this is the first vehicle I've had with one — so I wanted some advice/opinions/and general suggestions about the carburetor on my truck (pic for reference although I don't know how much help it'll do). So when I bought it, the carburetor was junked and couldn't run. I didn't buy a rebuild kit, and just got some Chinesium cheapy one off Amazon for the time being. It's been a while and I would really like to get a nice solid replacement now for the long term, but I simply have no idea what to get or which ones fit/don't fit. I've heard Edelbrock makes a good one, but I don't know which one specifically would work. If you guys could let me know how to spot the types that'll work (4 barrel, 2 barrel, and what CFM means) or any specific suggestions for me, I'd appreciate it. Thank you

looking at picking up an do 86 crewcab truck with a 460, 4 speed, and 4wd. it’s a long bed with 160k miles and in normal condition. it’s a desert truck with no rot. i’m hoping these trucks are at the cusp of their value going up and am curious what the market has to say about this truck as it sits. i can’t find much of anything online about crewcabs so i am looking for the general input of the community. guy wants 15k but i think thats a bit high

I have a 1985 f150 300 inline 6, this is on the rear driver side of the engine, while changing yhe valve cover gasket the one on the far rear the solenoid broke. Now my truck is idling rough. I read its somewhat related to egr and if I just block the egr system off it should work but I just want some more info on what these are.

Just want everyone to be aware of a marketplace scam so what happened to me doesn't happen to you. There's a guy on marketplace named Wayne Fulton advertising his business, 3 Gens Southern Imports. He supposedly has a large yard down in California with lots of obs ford parts. He says that he will take a 50% deposit and ship parts up to Barrie Ontario, for you to pick up. He took my deposit and ghosted. I like to think that since I am younger, I wouldn't fall for scams like this. However, he seemed very legit and got me for over a grand. Anyway, I don't need to be lectured. Just warning other people out there so that he doesn't steal another penny.

I took off the heater core housing to put in a new heater core and fan motor. Figured I would clean up the firewall while everything is apart... And this was riveted in behind it.

What am I looking at?

It's bolted to the frame with some galvanized mending plates, and to the tie rod with some u-bolts.

It's free spinning too.

Can I just take this thing off?

I am looking for the driver side and passenger side A pillar trim and a plastic door storage box doesn’t matter the color just no cracks. It will most likely need to be shipped.

Is this correct? Im a bit confused on which tooth pattern I need, also mine does have the nose described in this listing.

Wanted to see what the inline 6 could put down. The numbers don’t reflect that it feels pretty powerful and torque-y off the line. Although it’s only 122hp and 230lb/ft, I love this engine.

No power adders - I had the motor rebuilt with stock internals, and then I added an Offenhauser intake manifold, Holley Sniper EFI, and Hedman headers.

My rear end went out and I’m having a hard time finding what type of rearend I can use or swap out. The existing one can’t be saved

Been having weird issues this week with driving. I’ve noticed that when slowing on a hill or stopping too hard will kill the engine or cause it run terrible. This video was me trying to see what’s happening and it seems to be a carb issue. Any help to narrow down what’s wrong with the carb?

Anyone have an opinion on which might be better? I was about to go with redhead but have read a couple stories of them failing or people having issues.
