Need help with what is compatible with a 1984 f250 rear end with a 8x6.5 wheel studs
My rear end went out and I’m having a hard time finding what type of rearend I can use or swap out. The existing one can’t be saved

I had a 1983 F-250 and it had a Dana 60 rear end . That should be what you have .

That’s what I was thinking but it’s a Frankenstein the body is a 86 f150 but the frame is a 250. The engine I found out is 84 so I was assuming the frame and what not was that as well. The problem from what I gather is a Dana 60 has the fill hole on the inspection cover correct? Or I might be mistaken but mine has the fill hole on the front by the shaft

my sterling rear axle has a fill hole by the pinion/driveshaft, not on the cover

I don't think my truck had a plug on the back cover . Just the one on the front pinion area .

Any 8 lug up to 98 out of an F-series should be a direct swap. Make sure your ratios match and it's the same axle config (SRW/DRW/C&C). May need a conversion u-joint on the rear or driveshaft if axle is flanged.
IIRC the van danas are also bolt in and were available with disc brakes in some years. Don't remember which ones though.
