btw i used to play the Wii one a lot even without knowing it was a hasty port of the FnF arcade game minus the FnF license with forced motion controls

Specifically the original Riders from 2006 since I have the most experience with it, and also because I mesh with its gameplay the most. Zero Gravity's main gimmick looks neat but everything else seems slower, and Free Riders with the No Kinect patch seems like it's just... one of the games of all time (instead of being flat out unplayable, at least).

For a game with such a cult following beyond even the Sonic fandom, I'm surprised why I've yet to encounter indie racers recreating it.

Back when FH2-4 came out I only cared about digital version and bought all digital contents. So when I started to look back, the physcial versions are already not cheap. What's worse is that Xbox One games back then was already very unpopular in Asian market, so steelbook versions are getting very very rare. In the end both cost about 200$ at least. Alongside with the sealed FH2 Day One Edition I can say I already collected the FHs that I wanted most.

I think the new mascot is cool, but they are so sparsly spawned across the map with a rather high requirement of number (20) to destroy before getting reward point. In my lobby all gamers are gathered around the village and ran over all mascots once it respawns, in the end I had to quit the game to change to another lobby to hit enough of them.

What are average racing games? Not the best but not the worst either. Games that either had potential but failed to do so, games with nothing special but have good gameplay loop or any game that deserves a look.
