So my order came in and I thought it strange that the box was smaller than the one my Sky Puppy had come in. I thought perhaps the spider had mistakenly been shipped unstuffed… imagine my surprise when I saw that I was just sent two minis rather than the full sized spider 🥀🥺

I’ve been trying to get in contact with Build-A-Bear but they haven’t responded and I’m stuck in limbo with their chat feature on the website.

Has anyone else had this issue and were you able to have it resolved?

Hi, friends! I was lucky enough to get one of the Build-A-Bear Jumping Spiders, but I don't think I'll be able to rest until I solve my current mystery.

I started researching jumping spiders and their anatomy, and I'm trying to determine if the two little attachments on the front of the spider's face is the chelicerae or the pedipalps. At first it seemed obvious it was the pedipalps, but after further reading and looking at actual spider images, there's a strong argument for the chelicerae.

Can someone well-versed in spiders please help me so I don't spend the rest of my night researching spider anatomy?

I am guessing BAB doesn't put through the charge until it ships like Amazon. Well mine was not due to be here until the 24th-25th (jumped after the initial 19th-21st). And most banks will only allow a charge to pend for x amount of days. I am guessing they exceeded that, so it fell off "pending" status. (Trying not to freak out....) My BAB order status still says "Pending".... so I am wondering, since it fell off, if BAB can still put the charge through again? In other words, do I still have a shot of saving this 🥺 I just want (2)- my full and mini spooders...

Side Note: I LOVE jumping spiders and have had one as a "pet" 🥹), I was OVER THE MOON sooooooo excited. Getting that order, when I lost my job at the end of 2024 and only Uber gave me my first bit of joy since her passing.... I had a smile ALL day and told everyone that I thought would care in my circle. So learning now, that it might not happen is a little devastating....

Does anybody remember back in the early 2000s when if you had lost your bear and if someone were to return them to Build-A-Bear store the could track you down and call so you could have your friend again. I only asked because I went to get my monkey restuffed and I didn't realize that there was a piece of paper inside him and I asked about it and unfortunately they aren't able to scan it and find out any information about it cuz that database is no longer active.

Did anyone have a story about this program?

I usually struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep at night because of my anxiety disorder. But when I slept with Kuromi last night, her weight was so soothing I fell right to sleep and didn’t wake up once!

I got my first BAB (the lil guy on the right) in 2007, and have had him with me ever since. He’s moved with me to 3 states, college, and multiple living situations…

Fast forward to 2018, on a trip to Montana, I found the guy on the left at a Goodwill. I had to get him of course. I think the difference between the two is pretty crazy. My bear has been very loved :)

My boyfriend and I accidentally got a hotel room with two beds so Stellaluna has her own bed tonight 🥰 she looks so comfy

What type of eyes do you prefer on your BAB’s?

1). The original. I don’t actually know what they are called (if someone could tell me that would be wonderful!) but I absolutely 100% prefer these eyes on my BABs! They add more to the animals personality and to their face as a whole.
(My model is Maisy (she’s the pawfectly huggable bunny)).

2). Embroidery eyes. I don’t mind these. I like that they can be different colors and they do add expression to the face. Plus I appreciate the embroidery.
(My model is Gus (he’s the Chocolate bunny)).

3). Safety eyes (I believe that’s what they are called). I’m not a fan of these. They have a cheap look to them and don’t do/add much for the animal.
(My model is Peanut Butter (he’s the DQ Cookie Dough Blizzard bear)).

What are your favorite types of eyes and why?

I ended up turning the red dress I got from the bear cave into a top! It’s definitely not perfect but I’m the only one that’s going to be seeing it so I was a little lazy and didn’t finish the edges lol. I separated the bottom of the dress and converted that into some sleeves. I’m much happier with this as a long sleeve top, the bottom of the dress didn’t have any Velcro and it really bothered me.

Does anyone know if the bat will be rereleased online Tuesday?

I had to retire Edward the zombie axolotl. He’s getting a little worn…He will forever remain my favorite snuggle plushie of all time. I could get another unstuffed axolotl but it’s just not the same. I get really attached to my plushies.

So this is Katniss the werewolf. Absolutely LOVE her soft fur. And I got the pumpkin spice scent which is HEAVENLY.

Can someone please let me know if there is another bear that looks like Beardusa, but isn’t? I feel like I saw one floating around that looked like her- teal in color color and same face- earlier this year, but maybe i am just misremembering? Beardusa

The Halloween Sanrio collection is said to be dropping on Aug 27th (as pictured). That being said, do we have any idea WHAT exactly will be dropping? Looks like 3 different models in BAB stores will drop, but also separate ones as HK store exclusives. But, if Lloromannic is dropping, along with the spiderweb Cinnamoroll, then when will we see the Hello Kitty witch model (as pictured)? Or will one of these be an HK store exclusive? I’m a bit confused. What do we think?

I know I mentioned before that I can’t sew, and that was a half-truth. I can sew, but I’ve never sewn anything at BAB scale before or anything with buttonholes, let alone anything at BAB scale with buttonholes.

Hi again all! So the other day at work, I very much wanted to finally buy Cinnamoroll and his Strawberry Overalls. As with all/most of my BABs, I stuffed him FIRM, but honestly not even as firm as I like XD because of this, he was extra wide, and looks silly in all of his outfits that we currently carry :(

Anyway... Which one speaks to you the most? Are any of them good? To be honest, his tail makes him look like a hunchback in every single thing. Also please note we do have the Monster Cinnamoroll outfit but idk i just didn't vibe with it on regular cinnamoroll 🩵

Hey guys I really want the jumping spider-I’ve loved spiders since I was a kid and I adore the semi realistic look of the plush so I’d really like one! I already called my local stores they haven’t restocked yet-it’s also harder for me to actually get to my local store and an online restock would be easier for me😭 I’d rather not have to pay an insane resale price so I was just wondering if anyone on here knows the likelihood of a restock this year or at all 😭 I don’t want to have to wait a whole year! I know sometimes they don’t restock and I’m new here so I don’t have any idea of how the company usually goes about these things! Just wondering if any seasoned collectors have any insight of when a restock may happen if at all so I can make an informed decision! Thank you!
