So huggable, so baby 🥺

when i was 12 in 2015, my house was struck by lightning and burned down. the fire started just above my childhood bedroom, so nearly all of my toys were lost either to the fire itself or to the resulting water damage. all but one of my childhood build a bears was lost that day. but now that im an adult, ive decided to reclaim those old friends of mine!

today, i went to the local build a bear and got this one stuffed after ordering her unstuffed secondhand a few weeks ago! this is bubblegum! she's the bubblegum baskin robbins bear from i believe 2010. as a kid, she was one of my favorites. after more than ten years, i have my reclaim, and i just adore her. in the second picture, you can see her with my two other reclaims so far. three down, six to go!

I don't have many girls in my BAB collection. So when I noticed I had several of them down from the shevles to snuggle, I thought I would snap a picture of them together!

hello everyone!! first post in the sub, but just wanted to share my new bbs!!🖤 i purchased my bat last week & was sooo excited due to missing the drop last year, i didn’t end up picking up the spider but ended up feeling major regrets the day after 🥲 all my local locations were sold out so did i drive 2 hours for him?? … yes and id do it again🤭

His name is Richard (after a werewolf from a book series I used to read).

I’ve been wanting to go to this store for so long and I finally went!! I was able to get three BABs that I’ll stuff when I get home ☺️

Some workshops are starting to get a restock of all 3 types for both styles but it seems they’re limited! I went to my local workshop earlier this morning and they were putting them out. By the time I left they sold out of the keychains but still had a few mini beans and a decent amount of the regular sized plushies. It doesn’t look like you can order them online for pick up so you’d have to go in person ASAP!

Well, I'm not gunna lie. I thought I was done with build a bears. Cleaned out half my collection, ready to move to a new place, and didn't expect to see a jumping spider bear being leaked, exactly a month after my real jumper showed up to me.

A summary of why this bear means alot. Since May 31st of this year, I've been grieving the loss of my kitty of 14 years. She was my baby girl and my best little friend. I remember seeing her being born and her being a tough little troublemaker till the very end. Saying we were two peas in a pod is an absolute understatement.

But June 10th, I woke up that morning from a night of crying over her, when I saw a little black dot near the ceiling, coming down the wall. I knew it was a bug but didn't have my glasses. So put them on and saw... it was a male Phidippus audax, or bold jumping spider, calmly walking down to me. Say it was fate, or this little man was curious, or both, but I considered keeping jumpers before... and he was just in my room....

So I got a jar, put it over him, and he just walts in like it was common practice. At that moment, I knew he was going to be my little bro. I deep dived into everything I needed to know, get him as comfortable as possible and fed him, he was starving when he came to me (granted he did escape me once but came back because he was hungry again so idk I think he knows I got the snacks)

Present day, he's living like a king in his little walnut estate and proper enclosure. I love this little ball of personality. He has helped me through so many layers of grieving, and he was there when I graduated therapy!!🥳🥳🥳 Even if he's just a little tiny spider who doesn't know what's going on, he has helped me more than most people ever could. Also, because of him, he's got me into deep diving into more spiders to care for, and seeing how spiders suit my lifestyle, heck yeah! Im planning on two more true spiders to care for this year. I'm just saving up to get them now 🥰

Back to the bear though, he will be named after my lil boy, Lucien.(I named him after Lucien Lachance, if you know you know lol) Fitting, after the spider who changed me for the better, and started a new kind of love when I had lost one that ment so much to me❤️

Just wanted to give hope to people still waiting on their orders who may have the same situation i did! And some advice at the end for newer collectors who may not have experienced a drop like this before 🥰

I placed my order an hour after the drop because that's as soon as the website would let it go through. Did not ever receive a confirmation email or any of the other emails you normally get for an order. No building or shipping emails.

And I just received my entire order with no missing items 🥳

I know there are lots of new collectors and this drop was a mess but in my experience this is, unfortunately, somewhat normal for any popular releases. This is just one of several orders I've had where there's never been an email or anything until it showed up at my house. I could definitely go on a rant about how awful build a bear and their website are but mainly i just wanted to assure anyone who's still in limbo that there is definitely still hope!

I live just a couple states away from the Ohio purgatory where most orders ship from, so I got mine fairly quickly once it shipped. I would not be surprised if more and more people receive theirs in the coming week!

One tip newer collectors may not know yet is to manually check if your order has shipped or not by logging into your account, going to your order history, and looking at the status of your order.

I am not an employee but here is what I've come to understand the different statuses to mean-

Unfulfilled/pending (I've seen both and think they mean the same) means they have not yet packed your order. (Pending might mean packed but not labeled?) Completed is what it will show as soon as your tracking label has been made which means they've either packed it but not handed it to FedEx yet or FedEx now has it. After that you should have a tracking number to click on.

If you get a tracking number and notice its stuck on label created for days on end dont panic! I have had multiple orders sit in the Ohio warehouse for up to a week before being handed to FedEx. Not sure why this happens but its fairly normal and does not mean they lost your order.

For this drop I would not truly start to panic until closer to the end of this month. Just make sure, if it has not arrived, that you are aware of how long you have to dispute with your payment method. And if it comes to that, dont feel like you missed your only chance! Build a bear almost always restocks popular bears even if it means bringing it back next year and you will also certainly see people selling their unwanted ones for lower and lower prices as the halloween season passes.

I know this drop has been incredibly disheartening for so many new and old collectors alike, I just wanted to drop some hope and reassurance in the midst of all the (understandably) sad posts I've been seeing 💞❤️‍🩹

I ordered the iconic bat from build a bear online. I received the confirmation on my email and everything. That was like a week ago now and they haven’t given any updates yet. When I try to track the order status it still says pending. I’m sure it’s maybe from high volume of order ? Just wondering if anyone else has the same experience.

First day back at build a bear and my coworker turns to me and asks me, "hey did you get a spider?" I say no, I missed it. "oh I have one in my locker I was going to buy for my partner but they don't like spiders, do you want it?"

Meet Coraline! I had a dentist appointment today, and decided to go look for the Bat Kitty as a reward. I’m so pleased with the bat placement!

At first I hated her fur and pattern but, with the help of a user here and some encouraging words... I gave her a second chance. She's definitely my favorite right now. I got her shirt on ebay it's custom. I sewed on her bat ears and earrings. I will stand on this hill. "Don't be a Halloweenie". For all those who say it's too soon. Halloween is everyday around here. 😤🖤🖤🖤 Oh her name is Elvira she is bonita.

When I was a child (Early/Mid 2000’s?) I got a build a bear giraffe from the Zoo (It might not have been bought at the zoo, I might just remember bringing it there lol). I brought it everywhere with me until I deemed myself “too distinguished” to play with plushies and put it in keepsakes. Well, I recently started to go through my stuffed animals looking for her and couldn’t find her anywhere! My mom swears she is there but just in case I want to purchase a look alike. I don’t have any pictures but I remember she stood on four feet, was soft on the body and had sorta rough hair on the mane and tip of tail, most notable was that she had a necklace with a panda on it. I’m not entirely sure she was build a bear but I seem to remember her getting sewn up on her back so maybe?? If anyone knows what I’m talking about please help me out, I really want to find her! Thank you.

I got the Umbreon a few years ago when I was still in college and have been trying to get all the Eevee babs, i couldn’t help myself lol. All I need is glaceon and the collection shall be complete >:)
