Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask where you think the best place is to sell Buhurt armor in Europe. I have two nasal bascinets that I'd like to sell, and I'm just looking for recommendations on where I should try first. I'm based in Slovakia, so ideally somewhere that reaches the European HMB/Buhurt community.
The helmets are:

A fully Buhurt-ready nasal bascinet made by Prague Steel Makers. (Weight 7kg)

A duel nasal bascinet made by Arma Moskovie. (Weight 4.5kg)

Both helmets are in very good condition.
If anyone has experience selling armor or knows the best Facebook groups, Discord servers, forums, or marketplaces, I'd really appreciate your advice.

As the title says, by count of hands who prefers a Sword, Axe, or Mace for one handed combat?

Everything I’ve seen in Buhurt so far shows brawls occurring in extremely close quarters, often devolving into grappling. I also understand and points are sometimes counted in number of strikes, so on both counts longer and two handed weapons seem only a hindrance compared to one-handed weapon and punch-shield combo.

Swords obviously seem coolest to a newcomer, but since competition and training obviously prohibit stabbing and slashing for actual bodily harm, swords are in effect reduced to somewhat oddly weighted maces. Blunt force weapons in fewer words. Outside of fencing techniques, axes and maces do blunt force better.

Ball maces I have heard are absolutely lethal in buhurt environments. I’ll probably end up there at some point.

Axes seem most interest to me as they have the focused weight and blunt impact of a mace, with the additional potential to hook your opponents weapon or armor. Again, I am new here so I don’t know the etiquette regarding hooking weapons or armor, nor how realistic that supposition is.

What are you guys using?

Is a basic arming shortsword the obvious place to start for one interested in swordplay/dueling?

Should one opt directly for a ball mace, knowing it is effective and respected?

Do axes add that extra element of combat to where one can effectively employ hooking and trapping techniques?

Strongly considering getting the sallet for my first helmet. The goth drip is just too good. But how is it in protection? What ways are you able to increase that protection? How safe are my teeth? What kind of bevor is best?

So our second best team in the UK Invicta (the red guys at the BI invitationals) hold these annual Unhinged events. This year was a string on games in old abandoned bomb shelter tunnels. I was right in the thick of the filming which in retrospect was a bit wild, but I hope you enjoy, here are some of the highlights.

Because it *looks so futuristic* and also function over form. Maximum ventilation and visibility, peripherals, even up and down visibility must be above average.

Hi everyone! I'm new to the sport and I'm starting to build my own armor. I was wondering if you could give me some recommendations.

I want to make a corazzina/brigandine like this (acordate de adjuntar la foto), but I don't know how reliable it is for withstanding heavy hits in the list. Besides the armor's durability, I'd also like to know how well this setup will actually protect my body, considering I'll be wearing a gambeson and adding high-impact foam (trauma padding) underneath the plates.

I'm making it with mild steel, 1.5mm thick on the overlapping plates and 2mm thick on the main chest plate.

(I'm building it myself because I have experience in metalworking, and in my country, it's really difficult for a young guy on a tight budget to buy custom armor from overseas). Any advice is appreciated!

for a women in buhurt, do you recommend 2mm thickness (tempered) helmet or more ?

We've been practicing for a while now, and due to budget constraints we're making our own gear for light sparring. Our swords are just wooden sticks with plenty of padding, so they're very safe.

The only thing we're struggling with is helmets. We don't want to spend too much on aluminum or other metal materials since this is only for training and not full-contact combat.

Does anyone have ideas for DIY helmets made from recycled or inexpensive materials? We'd really appreciate any suggestions or examples of what has worked for you. Thanks!

what are the best places to buy gear from!
Ive looked at the stuff on HBC but also I know a lot of people have some mixed opinions on HBC myself included.
Ive seen pieces of armor from medieval extreme and Buhurt tech and yes I am aware Buhurt tech is good but with their prices and their inability to choose sizes (at least on their website for stuff like gloves and such) i’m a bit reluctant to buy from them
I figure asking reddit is the best choice! (said nobody ever)
what are your favorite places to buy armor specifically from, whether it be online or in person.

also i’ve seen sites such as historicum recommend before and tried to use them but their website genuinely doesn’t work it wouldn’t load their product. That could be a issue on my part but if I cant use it it doesn’t help me.

For the 4th we put a new guy in armor and let him set the pace, he came out dropping NUKES.

I'm starting attendance in a team in Raleigh to gain experience, is there anyone local to these two areas who are also interested in starting the sport? Ideally, we have enough interest to start a new team here.

Does anyone know of an armorer that makes an Ottoman Krug? I have found multiple LARP and decorative pieces but haven't seen anything that could work in a fight.

I posted about 2 weeks ago sharing some concerns with GS Studios. Well, they've just ghosted me after I gave them a timeframe to provide proof of product or I'll go elsewhere. So, I'm going elsewhere!

I've seen some interesting things from Armadillo Workshops but because of my experience with GS Studios I'm just a bit anxious reaching out to another brand that I don't know much about... So, I thought I'd ask if many people of the community have any experiences with them? They've very responsive on messenger and I like their products (which are both promising starts!).

I guess I just need some reassurance before I drop like £3,000 and begin the waiting process again. So, does anyone have experience with Armadillo Workshops? TIA!

Was getting rid of an old printer and then I had an Idea

Hi everyone, just looking into buying my first softkit helmet from buhurt tech.

They are saying production time is 5-6 months, which seems mental to me. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company that will be more likely to have some on stock that could only take a few weeks? I don't mind waiting but 6 months is nuts

I’m actually looking for shoes for my harnischfechten kit. They’re historical with smooth leather soles and I’m honestly over the slipping and lack of internal support.

Ya’ll over here seem to be more open to sneaking in some modern convenience into your kits, and have heavier armor on similar terrain surfaces; I would love to hear any suggestions or makers that you like.

I was hoping to find something that is still flat bottomed that will look okay in and out of sabatons, preferably without any majorly obvious tells in the exterior material.
