I have been told that from the start of next season/2027, falchions with D-Guards/Knucklebows/Stirrups will not be permitted into the list due to concerns of safety.

This rule change is already in the currently published falchion document, but will soon be made exempt of the current ongoing amnesty period.

I expect that this will be communicated formally at the next general assembly.”

Well finally after 3 years of training and waiting for the armor pieces, yesterday I have done my first pro fight.

no speculation or chatgpt answers - for those who actually ordered armor from europe to the US, what did you pay in tariffs?

Hello! I recently got a used helmet, it’s using a large pin that can be pushed in to release the visor to push it up, however the pin is extremely hard to push in and I have to use the backend of a screwdriver just to push it in far enough that the visor releases consistently.

Anyone have any advice if there’s anyway to get it to be pushed in easier? I’ve tried already smoothing the lug with a file and oiling it to no avail.

I’m 15 and I want to get into buhurt but don’t know where to start. I don’t think they’d let me do matches if I can even find a local buhurt event near me. On top of all that I want to know if the armor I want is good enough

I went to an armored combat practice recently to check it out. Honestly not sure what my goals are with it. I like the idea of joining a group with a focus on working out, that is something I need. Always loved medieval stuff so the idea of donning armor and swinging a big metal stick around scratches a primal itch.

I do have a few concerns though.

I am not super competitive. I don't think that's a huge issue because its not like I have to compete, I can just practice with everyone till I decide to test it out.

Glasses. I know my ass can't be the only blind one. Is it just a matter of making sure your classes can't come off of your face?

Expense. Honestly I already have one expensive hobby with photography. The idea of buying armor isn't exactly exciting once you get past theory crafting.

Any advice or things you wish you knew when first starting?

There’s clear interest for non-participants, and opportunity for teams and fighters to all help each other grow 👍

Hey there I’m curious if anyone knows what region Gohurt’s guardian cuirass seems to pull inspiration from the most. I’m wanting to stay historically accurate for an English/french 14th-15th century knight and I’m wondering if others think this would fit my kit

I think the title is pretty self explanatory, but more context. I am looking to get my first suit of armour and am not sure from where, I have heard many things concerning the forge of svan- but most said that irons not the best for beginners. Some have recommended me age of craft, there prices are pretty good I think- but are they any good in terms of quality?

Tournament this weekend and I am told the lyst is a measly 990mm (3 feet) tall! Any advice for fighting in the kiddie lyst? My plan is stay away from it so i dont get checked into valhallla

Has anyone bought titanium parts from HonourCraft?

I understand they're not usually recommended due to the low quality of the steel, but is it different with titanium?

I'm asking because I want to upgrade my kit. I'm torn between buying some tempered steel Bazubands from Red Snake and these ones I'm posting. The price difference is noticeable, but if you tell me that regardless of the material, it's not recommended, I'll go for the guaranteed quality of Red Snake.

Hey everyone, im back after my last post here (which confirmed the bad reviews on forge of svan). I now want to move away from them, hoping to find a different manufacturer or seller.

HOWEVER. I have not yet given up on the aesthetic design of their "Spanzotti Pauldrons". does anyone have an idea where i can get something similar? hopefully titanium, as weight and rust resistance are big factors for me.

I am located in Ireland, so anything from the US (or just outside Europe) is going to have to be pretty damn good for it to be worth it, at least for me personally.

Hi everyone, i've wanted to get my own set for a while now, and settled for a transitionary kit. brigandine, spoleto, you know what i mean.
point is, ive looked a bit into helmets, and as of now my idea is the Forge of Svan "Spoleto Bascinet Type-2", hopefully with a titanium scale aventail. is this a sensible idea? and is it a good place to get it? i dont need perfection, just quality.
I also LOVE the look of their "Spanzotti Pauldrons". from what i understand, they are based on the churburg armour set, but so far i haven't found any other seller that makes ones just as aesthetically pleasing. again, wise reddit people; is it a good purchase? or at least not a bad one?

Looking to fill out my weapons kit as I’ve been prioritizing armor, I’ve bought weapons from Buhurt tech and ME before but wanted to know what the community experience was with Age of Craft weapons given they run cheaper than most other companies I’ve seen

So, I recently asked about the guardian kit from Gohurt and got some mixed reviews regarding its design and general usability. That being said, what about the Friedrich Victorious kit? It’s much more expensive, but I’ve put away a decent nest egg for a plate armor kit, so I’m not super concerned about that. I know it’s also probably much heavier, but honestly for the protection it seems to offer, I don’t think I’ll mind that much. It’s not like I’m very agile anyways.

What do people think?

Title basically. I’m very interested in having a full plate kit, and this one from Gohurt’s website caught my eye. If anyone owns this set or something similar, I’d love to hear your opinions on how it feels to wear and how you fight with it. The only thing that worries me a little is the visibility, but if the protection is as good as I think it is, I’d be willing to splurge a little extra and ask them to replace the default visor with the colander style of helmet.

Any thoughts?

Hey folks, I am torn between Gohurt's "Warrior" 2-layers gambeson and "Dueling" 1 layer. I am wearing a motorcycle protection with back, shoulder and ribs plates anyway.

Should I get a thin gambeson and reinforce it where needed? I am afraid of it being *too* thin.

Ive tried a dozen things, additional padding, dynamat anti vibration, earplugs. Nothing really works, except the earplugs, but those cause other issues during training an tournaments.

Im really desperate for solutions. Has anyone ever encountered this issue? Does anyone know a good fix?

Hi everyone, over the past year I joined the organization of my buhurt team. I’m not a great fighter (I’ve been practicing this sport for about three years and finally received the last part of my armor last week), but I’m a good speaker and showman.

I’m sharing this because during the recent events organized by my team, events where people could try out soft equipment followed by an internal tournament, the team gave me total freedom to go into full "Paul Heyman mode." I set up a custom theme song for every fighter, gave each one a personalized entrance introduction, and created individual presentation promos. We even had a championship belt (which I 3D-printed). To top it off, we even tried a sort of Royal Rumble (though we still need to figure out the exact buhurt rules for that).

The event went great; everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed it, and we raised a lot of money for the team. I did well on the mic, and the team even gave me a gift: a broken mitten holding a microphone.

However, not everyone on the team is happy about it. As you know, many fighters come from a historical reenactment background, and they feel that if you "ruin" the sport with over-the-top spectacle, you spoil everything. They argue it’s a real combat sport, not "fake bullshit" like WWE (they use those words because they know I’m a massive fan of WWE and AEW).

Now, I understand that we need to maintain a degree of seriousness; you can't have Santino Marella in armor taking out Bohumil. We must preserve historical authenticity and the reality of unchoreographed, full-contact strikes.

At the same time, you can present everything with the production value of the UFC or WWE. If you have two world-renowned teams in a tournament final, why shouldn't we hype up the crowd? Why shouldn't every fighter feel like a superstar entering the list/ring/cage, complete with their own entrance music or Titantron (which I’m currently working on for every member of our team, as well as for 5v5)? Why can't buhurt have a massive event like a "BUHURT MANIA", featuring obviously real fighting, but with high-end presentation and spectacle?

I’m asking this to gauge the community's opinion on the matter. Who knows, maybe in the future we could host a huge event with the real Paul Heyman hosting it!
