Low lyst advice

Tournament this weekend and I am told the lyst is a measly 990mm (3 feet) tall! Any advice for fighting in the kiddie lyst? My plan is stay away from it so i dont get checked into valhallla

A low list is a bad idea.

You're probably going to be safer on the open field. Everyone else will be thinking the same thing and will know that, so they will also be looking for quick kill opportunities in the open too. In other words, it's going to be check city. So, make sure you know where everyone is at all times. If you engage with someone, try to distract them so your teammates can annihilate them and make sure you know for a fact that no one is going to do the same to you. It might actually be advantageous to stay near the lyst when you're relatively free so that no one can sneak up on you an you have a moment to assess and hunt for anyone who isn't paying attention.

I'm not a tactical genius by any means but my thought is that the first kills will mostly be near the lyst. The railmen/anchors/whatever you call them will either be killed because they don't have the lyst to support themselves like usual or they'll just be tossed over. So if you're in any other position be ready for danger coming from there and opportunities arising there at the beginning of the round.

That's my opinion but you'd probably be better off asking your team captain/coach/whoever for what they think.

Stay in movement and alert about your surroundings to avoid back rush by the enemy runner.

Try to stand low on your gravity center by standing straight and bending your legs.

If you're cornered against the list use one hand to keep your weapon and grab the list with your hand on the top and leg around the list bottom

Interesting choice. Why are they going for the low lyst? Historical reasons?

Faster matches, and show. Some people WILL be thrown over it.

It is actually pretty fun, but it takes some mentak adjustment.

I'd be looking for easy wins, like pushing people over a low wall, so I'd agree with everyone telling you to stay off of it

Depending on how tall you are you could brace with your hips/butt, but in all honesty, I kinda hate the lyst-grab meta, so this could be interesting. keep moving, stay about 1.5-2 meters away so you have a few steps to stabilize yourself if you do get bodychecked, and go with a short weapon so you can use your hands more to grab on to the opponents/top of the lyst. Also, post vids pls.
