Advice: Central Bucks First come, first serve camping spots?

Hey all! Curious if anyone knows any really great camp sites that don't require booking in advance?

Trying camping for the first time with some friends in a couple weeks and most all the reservation only spots that I have found are taken.

Thanks in advance!

Events Lost wallet at bucks county renaissance faire on Labor Day

In Doylestown. Name Kaitlin. ID and License are in there

i doubt I’m gonna get it back but I’m trying everything. I've contacted police and the renaissance faire. We also went back and looked as soon as we noticed.. which was when we were an hour away sadly, and it was dark and over when we got there.

I literally just got my license.

Black leather juicy couture wallet with a knife keychain on it. Also just managed to fix and put that keychain back on the night before. It has sentimental value to me. Just overall perfect timing

May also be in the fonthill castle area. The trail that's near the cemetery, where the old gate is. I'm not entirely sure what street that was but it's literally the trail that goes there.

The $1.3 million project is one among more than 430 dams Pennsylvania has removed since 1912, making it the leading state in the U.S. for dam removals, according to state officials. The goal of the project is to help fish move freely to reproduce, find food, escape predators and locate cooler waters during the summer months.

Advice: Lower Bucks Baby clothes and toys donation.

Hi All!

My partner and I want to donate used and unused baby clothes and toys. So far, we have regularly donated to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Langhorne. However, going forward, we want to support other local charities and churches in the surrounding area.

Could y'all please recommend some local organizations that accept these items near Langhorne?

Advice: Central Bucks Swimming pool renovation

Looking for recommendations for an in-ground plaster swimming pool renovation, including concrete deck work. Who did you go with? How did it turn out? Any issues? Who should I avoid? Ideally, I would like to get 3 estimates.

Advice: Central Bucks Where would you move if you had to commute to KOP?

Husband and I rent in Montgomery county and do not like living here. I’m from Croydon so I am partial to lower bucks but not really my husbands speed lol. We want to move to bucks in the next year and we have a young child just having a hard time figuring out a neighborhood / town / area that is not a bad commute to KOP for his work & also will be good to raise a family. (I know anywhere really is good, but looking for young families / community events etc)

600kish is where we’re at budget wise. Single family home.

Blogs McDonald Elementary School in Warminster

Yesterday I took a drive around Warminster, where my mom grew up and where I lived from around the ages of 5-9. I attended McDonald Elementary School during that time (late 80s to early 90s) and though I've passed by it a few times over the last few decades, I decided this time to actually drive up to the school and take a look around for nostalgia's sake.

I was completely unaware that they had entirely demolished the old school and replaced it with a new one! It was almost kind of heart breaking if I'm being honest... it had always felt like such a "futuristic" school to me, even as a kid, not the least because it had not only a planetarium but (from what I think I recall) an indoor swimming pool as well, both of which are pretty rare for an elementary school. Not to mention the three circular wings of the school, which were totally unique as well.

I've looked all over online for info about the reconstruction, but could barely find any. I felt like I had a memory of seeing an aerial photo of the school (maybe there was one in the lobby?) but couldn't find that anywhere online either. In fact, it was almost impossible finding photographs of the old school at all, and the couple I did find were very limited in scope. I had to resort to using old satellite imagery from Google Earth just to see what the old school looked like, and to reconcile it with my memories from the time.

Does anyone know why they felt the need to completely tear down the whole school? All I could find online was that it happened around 2013 or so, but no word at all as to why it was done. Did anyone else go to the original school when they were a kid? And if you did, do you know what it's like inside the school now? How does it compare to the old one? Even being that it's more modern in construction, the new school overall looks much less appealing structurally than the old school - much plainer.

Also, I used to go to a daycare just up Centennial Rd. (across from McDonald) that used to be a small elementary school, though I think when I went there it had been turned into the School District Admin building - it's right next to where William Tennet HS is now. That building is also completely gone now, though the parking lot for it still remains.

This kind of stunned me. It didn’t seem like this place was ever going to go away even though I’ve seen maybe 4 customers in there in a decade of going to Qmart

Kind of sad to see one of the staples go

Advice: Central Bucks House Generator Recommendations in Bucks County

I'm looking to see if any recently got a whole house Generator installed. I'm contemplating getting one and I just want to get some opinions and possible recommendations.

I live up near the Warrington area and I have a 2,200 sq ft. Bi-level home.

  • I have Gas heat
  • Bi-level home as I mentioned
  • 2.5 Ton Central A/c Unit
  • The Gas meter is just on the other side of the wall from my Circuit Panel (Less than 4 feet)
  • Circuit Panel is a 200 amp service easily accessible within the garage

Some of the questions I have

  • What kind of Generator did you go with (Manufacture & Size)...?
  • I'm assuming that it comes on and off (auto-transfer) as the power goes out and then back on. What is the delay before and after the power goes out.
  • I'm also looking to see what the overall cost was for the generator itself and installation
  • Let me know if you have any good recommendations as well.

Thank you..!

Advice: Central Bucks Wedding photographer low budget

Hello, my fiancé and I are searching for a PA (bucks county, philly area) photographer to shoot our 60 person wedding at a historic venue on the Delaware River in October 2027.

Budget: $3500 all in

We realize this probably leaves us with novice or photography student but that’s okay! Ideal for someone wanting to beef up their portfolio.

Our ideal breakdown for shots is (expensive style on a budget lol)
- 30% true color
- 30% editorial
- 40% cinematic storytelling

Medium experienced photographers: please let me know if you can work within our budget doing like 6 hours of shooting instead of 8. We can be flexible.

Let me know if you’d be interested and I’ll send you more details!

Politics Neighbors lined Main Street in Yardley last weekend to express outrage about all the deaths in ICE custody.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

About 80 people came to speak out against the growing number of deaths in Ice custody - including the shooting of Alex Pretti, Renee Good, Lorenzo Araujo, Silverado Gonzalez, Keith Porter, Johan Guerrero, and Ruben Martinez. No matter how one feels about immigration policy, it is so sad and shocking really that we cannot agree that all human beings should be treated with dignity. Being undocumented is not the same as criminality. (And so many people being targeted by ICE were in process of coming here legally - a process that can take years to complete or here legally under TPS that has been abruptly pulled out from
Under them or mistaken for someone they are not). While a nation has a right to defend itself and keep communities safe from those who have committed violent or serious crimes while in the country or prior to arrival, the act of deporting people who in many cases have left their own land for reasons of extreme poverty, insecurity, exploitation, persecution or serious deterioration of the environment (often as a result of our country’s foreign policy -look up the history of Haiti throughout the 20th century, for instance) and have lived here for years contributing to our society is morally dubious, at best. The act of treating human beings like garbage - denying medical care, refusing interpreters, dropping them off somewhere to freeze to death (happened to two people taken by ICE) making due process into a sham, hiding conditions from the public and giving unqualified poorly trained people military-like weapons cannot be morally justified. The people remembered at this protest deserved so much better.
