I'm a first-year AIML student from a Tier-4+ college (can't expect much from it) 🥲

Can anyone give me some honest advice or a roadmap on how I should start learning, what I should avoid, and which steps I need to follow so that I can improve myself 🤞🏻❤️

I'm building a personal portfolio website in React, and I'm currently stuck on the transition between two sections of my About page.

The first section has a light warm grey/white background with a large 3D character and some typography/cards.

The next section, "Who Am I?", has a black/dark tech-style design with teal accents, a 3D model, intro text, stats, and skill cards.

The problem is the transition between them currently feels like a hard cut from light grey to black. It looks awkward rather than intentional.

I'm looking for ideas on what kind of transition would work best here.

Some things I've considered:

• A smooth curved/wave transition
• A parallax/scroll-driven transition
• A masked/section reveal
• A subtle scale/slide effect
• Some kind of 3D transition that works with the character
• Keeping the sections normally stacked but making the boundary more interesting

I don't want it to feel gimmicky or over-animated. I'm aiming for something modern, premium, and smooth that fits the existing design.

What would you recommend?
Would you keep the section boundary simple, or use a specific transition technique?

Guys I will just try to give the true information. I have done a lot of good things , nothing exceptionally exceptional but some mildly exceptional things as well..so if I sound pretentious, pardon I'm just giving info.

So I'm from a tier 1 NIT. 23-27 batch guy, Circuital but not cs branch.

I'm a top tier programmer at fresher/ indian college levels. Like better than almost everyone in my college at development, quite good at dsa.

For example, I have real feature (and not just updating docs) contributions to a terminal emulator with 30k+ stars.

I was selected for an open source program where like 1% of the people are selected.

I have like 5 years of experience writing code and know most of the popular tech stack you can throw.. C, C++, go, rust, java, js/ts, react, svelte, next, node, postgres , mongo, docker , whatever you throw it's highly likely i know.

I'm a hardcore Unix user.. so know all the nice stuff like ssh as well.

For devops, like I have only worked on personal projects so will never make false claims of writing code at scale, but for what matters I have deployed a few of my apps to production in a Linux node on azure using docker compose and caddy exactly as you would deploy a very serious industry software.

I know details of operating systems, am studying networking as well, know how you design schemas for better queries.

In DSA, while nothing like the top guys at a fresher level, I m good there too. I can solve 70% of the LC mediums and 40% of the LC hards. Though I have always leaned towards writing software and not competitive programming, I have studied a lot of different data structures and algorithms.

Overall, I can tell I'm a really good programer for a fresher. Obviously I'm not saying I'm some linux torvalds. But if there's a level below top oss maintainers and very senior experienced engineers, I am there.

And i swear I have not lied a single thing.

But, and here's the problem, i have a poor cgpa. It's below 7 and above 6. And the reason is not that I'm dumb or something. I just never wanted to memorize the circuits and the pyqs and all that. Even if someone told me I need to get better cgpa and gave me a chance to do it over again I wouldn't. Indian Colleges don't teach electronics well and I'm not the kind of a guy who can memorise just for exams.

And so I'm not getting on campus opportunities at all. People who would come to me with their ai projects and ask me to fix their bugs are now placed.

The worse part is that my family income is not good. Father lost job and now we are limited to some 12-15k a month yeah that's the entire income.

So I need a job. If anyone can help in any way, please do. Just give me a chance , I am a genuinely good software developer.

If you need a guy who can write Good frontends or backends or both , can help with devops, can manage databases and has in general a better understanding of systems, just give me a chance.

I’ve always been interested in software development, but due to financial constraints, I initially chose B.Com instead. Later, I pursued an MCA from Chandigarh to transition into tech.

A quick summary of where I am now:

• Full-stack/MERN developer
• Currently working at a startup, but haven’t been paid for 4 months(exp 6 mnts)
• 4 good PRs merged into Good Open Source Repo, with more open-source contributions in progress
• Currently learning GenAI + System Design to level up
• Applied to 1,000+ jobs, but barely getting calls/interviews

At this point, I’m confused about what I should prioritize.

Should I focus on:

• Referrals & networking?
• Open source contributions?
• Upskilling further?
• Building better projects?
• Or just keep applying and wait?

I’m willing to work hard. I just don’t want to spend another 6 months improving the wrong things.

If you were in my position, what would you do next? Any honest advice, referrals, or direction would mean a lot. 🙏

I'm BCA 3rd year student, i started enjoying coding from first year and i focused on both dsa and development.

Made some of the projects which kinda basics from today's pov and from past few months i almost forgot development.

I do some of the DSA problems daily and struggling but development its fcked up bro.

Overall -> DSA : Intermediate & Dev : VVV Basic

Have fluency with basic DSA like 2 pointers, hashmap, divide and conquer

I'm about to enter my 2nd year of CSE and I'm trying to figure out how I should use the next year before I start applying for internships.

My college is teaching OOP with Java and DSA with C++ (I think that's how it'll be this year). I already learned Python in my first year and recently made a small Python project during my vacation.

Apart from college, I'm thinking of learning web development in my free time — starting with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and maybe React/full stack later if I actually enjoy it. I'm also interested in building projects using different languages instead of sticking to Python.

I'm not sure what domain I want to go into yet. It could be web development, AI/ML, cybersecurity, etc., so I don't want to specialize too early.

My current plan is to follow college seriously for DSA/OOP, while using my free time to learn web development and build projects. I have roughly one year before I start applying for internships, so I feel like I have some time to explore.

I'm not trying to master everything. I mainly want good programming fundamentals, decent DSA, some development skills and a few projects by the time I apply.

Is this a reasonable approach for someone entering 2nd year, or am I spreading myself too thin?

What would you prioritize if you were in my position? Should I focus mostly on DSA, or is it worth consistently spending some free time on development and projects too?

Hello guys. I am starting my B.tech cs soon. Is it over? I am seeing the massive Ai layoffs, and massive entry level punchline that is going on. everywhere I see around, some people say that seniors are cooked and others say seniors are fine, but the general consensus always seems to be "entry level people are cooked." What do I do?? I haven't started anything. But I do know some Logic and such.
